    Rajouri November 16:–Two Policemen were killed and Three others critically injured as Police jeep which was a part of SSP Poonch’s escort, skidded off the road and plunged into a river in Surankote area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

    According to official sources the SSP and his escort were returning from Pir Ki Gali along the Mughal road.The escort had accompanied Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer, who is presently on 2-day visit to Poonch district.

    Three others were referred to GMC Rajouri, BMO Surankote Dr Zulfikar Choudhary told that the condition of all three of those referred to the Jammu GMC remains critical

    Langate November 16:–Residents of Khan Tulwari area of Langate in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district staged a protest against the alleged failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department in providing drinking water in this area.Residents of area block Langate-Batugund Road.

    Protestors told GNSONLINE that they have brought the matter to the notice of concerned authorities from time to time but nothing has been done to restore water supply in the area.

    Locals of the area appealed higher authorities of concern department eEspically Exn PHE Handwara for redressal of the grievance.

    DC Kishtwar reviews functioning of Revenue Department

    Regular inspection of developmental works,ensuring punctuality of staff in govt offices,and redressal of public grievances at the door step is the top most priority of single line administration ,says DC kishtwar.

    Kishtwar November 16:–Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma, today reviewed functioning of Revenue Department in an officers meeting here at conference Hall DC office Complex Mini secretariat Kishtwar.

    Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma , SDM Chatroo, Inderjeet Parihar; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Akhter Hussain Qazi, Tehsildar (HQ) Chander Shekhar Sharma
    besides All Tehsildars and other concerned revenue officials attended the meeting.

    At the outset DC kishtwar took detailed action taken report of the decisions taken in the previous meeting.

    Thereafter, Deputy Commissioner took tehsil-wise detailed review of the progress in the deposition of Jamabandis Parat, Patwar/Parat Sarkar, Girdawaries, attestation of mutations, progress on eviction of encroachment from State, Kahcharai, Common and forest land besides took stock of the progress on the scanning of revenue record.

    He stressed for immediate scanning of left out revenue records and submit the completion certificate by 20th of this month.

    Showing satisfaction on the progress of removal of encroachments, the DC kishtwar exhorted upon the concerned officers to continue the process till the target is achieved as per the eviction plan.

    Meanwhile, he directed concerned revenue officers to submit monthly reports and desired information for further submission to higher authorities well in time without any fail.

    SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to inspect the developmental works and ensure the punctuality of staff in govt offices so that the desired results are achieved.

    He said that regular inspection of developmental works,ensuring punctuality of staff in govt offices,and redressal of public grievances at the door step is the top most priority of single line administration and same shall be delivered by department.

    The implementation of COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour, Enforcement of rates of minerals as per the govt notification,
    status of the pending ACB/court cases and enquiries were also reviewed in the meeting.

    Furthermore, Concerned revenue officers were directed to clear all the pendencies before the next meeting.

    RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 16:–To take a first-hand appraisal of grievances of the public at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a public grievances redressal camp here at Thanamandi.

    Among the others, DDC Member Thanamandi, Abdul Qayom Mir; President MC Thanamandi, Shakeel Mir; Sarpanches, panches and people from all sections of the society attended the public outreach camp.

    ACD, Sushil Khajuria; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; AC Defence, Saleem Qureshi; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; Tehsildar, Sahil Hussain; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; AD FCS&CA, Arief Lone; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn PMGSY Budhal, Abdul Gani besides concerned officers from the Line Departments were also present during the program.

    The public and their representatives apprised the DDC about developmental issues of their respective areas and sought adequate water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services.

    Addressing the public, the District Development Commissioner said that District Administration Rajouri is making persistent efforts to provide quality services to the common masses, that too at their doorsteps to ensure that they don’t face any inconvenience.

    Expressing the strong resolve of the District Administration to ensure transparency and accountability in its functioning, the DC said that concrete measures have been taken to make Government services more transparent, easily accessible to encourage peoples’ participation in the development process and clean governance.

    Highlighting the objective of the public outreach camp, the DC said that such platforms enable the District administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the general public and improve public service delivery mechanisms.

    Underlining the measures being taken to cover all the eligible beneficiaries under the Forest Rights Act, the DDC said that so far, as many as 640 claims have been cleared and strict instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities for the coverage of all eligible left out beneficiaries under the Act.

    Informing about the steps being taken to promote self-employment generation activities, the DC said that dedicated efforts are being made to enable the unemployed youth to earn on their own.

    Regarding enhancing the literacy rate of the district, he informed that the concrete measures are being taken to ensure hundred per cent enrollment of the dropouts in schools.

    He also urged upon the public to avail the benefits of the newly launched Aap ki Zameen Aap ki Nigrani land Information system and said that this new system will provide land records at their palm, just at a click. He said it will be a game-changer and will play a major role in the prompt delivery of services.

    The DDC also appealed to the public to register themselves under the SEHAT scheme to avail the medical insurance coverage.

    Modalities finalised for formation of Farmer Producer organizations in Rajouri DC asks for roping in young entrepreneurs in agri-business

    RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 16:–District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a meeting to discuss and finalize the modalities for the formulation and implementation of the Central Scheme “Formation and Promotion of Farmer Producer Organization (FPO)” in the district.

    The Formation & Promotion of FPOs has been tasked to the Implementing Agencies (IAs) under this Central Sector Scheme with funding from the Government of India.

    In Rajouri, 9 Implementing Agencies (IAs) have been finalized for the formation and promotion of FPOs and Small Farmers Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC).

    At the outset, Project Director, Dr R S Manhas said that Small Farmers Agri-Business Consortium is helping in the formation and growth of FPOs and the development of business activities of the FPOs. He further informed that in the first phase six FPOs are to be constituted in the district.

    “The aim of forming the FPOs is to reduce the capital cost, increase the productivity and ensure that the farmers get fair prices for their produce, “he added.

    The DDC said that Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) are intended to build a prosperous and sustainable agriculture sector by promoting and supporting member-owned Producer Organizations that enable farmers to enhance productivity through efficient, cost-effective and sustainable resource use and realize higher returns for their produce, through collective action supported by the government, and fruitful collaboration with the implementing agencies.

    The DDC urged the stakeholders to mobilize the field staff for identifying the potential Produce clusters and also generate mass awareness among the progressive farmers for the formation of FPOs in the district.

    The District Development Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to provide all the basic facilities and other logistics to the FPOs and other entrepreneurs who are intending to open a venture in the district.

    “The district Administration Rajouri has roped in THRI-BHARTI ENTERPRISES which deals in Oils, natural extracts and food, to provide market linkage to those farmers who are growing oilseed in the district,” the DC informed.
