Langate Handwara October 03:–Municipal Committee Langate on Sunday organised an awareness programme under Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav at Municipal office Langate as part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the 75th yr of Indian Independence.
The long week commencing from 27 September to 03 October has been earmarked for highlighting the various activities under Swachh Bharat Mission by the government of India. In this regard Municipal Committee Langate organised awareness programme to inform the people about their social responsibilities in the area.
While speaking during the event Chairman Muncipal Committe Langate Mohd Sadiq Mir said that the main objective of the programme Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is to create awareness about cleanliness amongst the people about the importance of cleanliness under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Executive Officer Oruj Mohiuddin said that i am thankful to the people for their cooperation with her and hope we will collectively try to keep the town neet and clean.
Executive officer threw detailed information about source segregation of waste.
She had highlighted the importance of DTD collection.
On this occusion BDC chairman Langate congratulated the MC langate for initiatives like big projects of Macadamization of urban roads and connectivity bride and passenger sheds.
On this occasion Executive officer Oruj Mohiuddin ,Chairman Municipal Committee Langate Mohd Sadiq Mir ,Vice Chairman Jameel Ahamd Rather BDC chairman langate Showket Ah pandit Traders Federation, Mohd Iqbal Shah ,President Transport ,Chemists and Druggist President , employees of various departments besides students of Various schools and local people attended the event.
A huge gathering attended the community hall to participate in the celebrations of azadi ka amrit mahaotsav.
