Rajouri August 13 :–Traders, people of Rajouri town, various political, social & religious organisations today observed a complete ‘Bandh’ on the call of Sanatan Dharam Sabha to express solidarity with Jasbir Singh, BJP City Mandal President and his family and to express resentment over the grenade attack on his house.
3 year old Veer Singh s/o Balbir Singh(brother of Jasbir) was killed on the spot while 7 members of the family, including Jasbir Singh his two nephews Arjun Singh & Karan Singh (both 12 years), Ramish Singh and Sita Devi (parents of Jasbir), Balbir (brother), and about 7 month old baby of Jasbir was injured.
Being an ex-serviceman, Jasbir and his mother Sita Devi were airlifted reportedly to Command hospital at Udhampur on father’s demand (also ex-serviceman).
Meanwhile, Dr. Raghav Langer, IAS, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Mukesh Singh, IPS, ADGP, IGP Jammu paid a straight visit to Rajouri and reviewed the security scenario, held meeting with the district administration and also visited GMC (District hospital) and met with Jasbir Singh.
A massive protest march was held by the traders, activists of social, political & religious organisations from Khandli Bridge to Panja Chowk (about 3 kilometers).
People were demanding immediate transfers of Deputy Commissioner and SSP, to strengthen the security grid, return of VDC guns, further strengthening VDCs (many people have applied for the new VDCs and the guns) early investigation and arrest of the culprits involved in the brutal murder of a youth and grenade attack on Jasbir’s house.
Rajesh Kumar Shavan, assured the protesters after the Independence Day celebrations the administration would held a meeting with the prominent people to resolve all the issues on the spot and to bring in the notice of the State Government (demands not in the power of DC).
“Rajouri was witnessing an era of development for the last 6 months, but some elements (our enemies) for their vested interests diverting our attention by engaging us in such activities (murder, blasts) and exploiting the people to create mistrust between the administration & public” said DC.
Sayed Muzaffar Hussain Shah (Baji Sahib of Brevhi) and Moulana Hafiz Muhammad Alyas have strongly condemned the grenade attack on Jasbir’s house.
“It was a shocking and highly painful incident. Nothing can be more cowardly than an attack which claims life of 3 years old boy” said Baji Sahib.
Both have offered condolences to bereaved families and have appealed to bring the culprits to the book and support to the affected family.
“The killing of a minor child cannot be justified. The killers must be arrested and given exemplary punishment so that such incidents do not happen again in a peaceful District Rajouri,” said the Apni Party Spokesperson.
BJP J&K General Secretary and Former MLC Vibodh Gupta today visited the family of martyr Veer Singh.
“This cowardly attack by the militants would prove to be as the last nail in their coffins” said Vibodh and assured the family that all the terrorists involved in this attack will soon be behind the bars.

Rajouri August 13:–Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah (Baji Sahib of Brevhi Kalakote) has strongly condemned the grenade attack on the house of Jasbir Singh last evening in Khandli area of Rajouri District.

In a statement, Baji Sahib described the grenade throwing incident as shocking and highly painful. “Nothing can be more cowardly than an attack which claims life of a three year old baby”, said Baji Muzaffar Sahib.

Baji sahib termed the incident as unfortunate and offered condolences with the bereaved family. “We stand with the family at this difficult time”, said Baji Sahib.

Baji Sahib has also called upon the Police and administration to investigate the case and provide support to the effected family.
