RAJOURI AUGUST 11 :–The Administration faces tough time while facing the agitating family, people.
A 24-year old youth was brutally murdered on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday by unidentified persons in Chakli village under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station.
A massive protest demonstration was held today by the family members, relatives, villagers, and people of the area on Jammu-Poonch highway and blocked it for about 6 hours at village Dhanwan against Deputy Commissioner & SSP alleging none of them came to meet them for about five hours to share their grief and about the intimation of administration/police action
After five hours Additional SP reached the spot and tried to pacify the people and family members, but they refused to talk to him.
Later SSP and Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Kumar Shavan reached the spot and also faced the resentment of the public alleging it took them hours to reach the spot which is just 15 minutes run from Rajouri district headquarter.
Deputy Commissioner apprised the public about his pre-engagements and said: “When I came to know about people’s demand, I left the on-going meeting & came to meet them”.
“A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already been constituted and IGP (Jammu) has also assured (in a WhatsApp message) about the earliest investigation and the arrest of the culprits” said Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DC.
Being District Magistrate I will also monitor the progress of the investigation and will assure that the investigation would be fair and prompt, he added.
“As I was told that the family is poor, the best measure to help the family would be to provide a government job to one eligible member of the family and suitable compensation under the Victim Policy of the State which I have promised to the family” said Rajesh Kumar Shavan.
He has assured the people to deal with the criminals involved in the murder with iron hands.
During the intervening night of August 10 & 11, some unidentified persons barged into the house of Bachan Lal in village Chakli and attacked his 24-year old son Ankush Bakshi with a sharp-edged weapon and killed him on the spot and fled from the village.
Ankush’s sister, sleeping in the adjoining room, heard a loud sound and came out to see what had happened. According to sources she saw about four persons with covered faces running away, she raised the alarm.
“When they entered the room of Ankush, only brother of three sisters, and his marriage was settled in the month of October, they found him in a pool of blood. Neighbors and villagers also reached the spot and informed the police.
A police Party from Chattiyar police post reached the village in the morning and took the body into possession for medico-legal formalities and also recovered the sharp-edged big knife( locally known as Toka) used in the crime for forensic investigation.
The police have registered a case under sections 302 and 458 IPC at Rajouri police station and an SIT headed by Deputy SP, HQs has started the investigation.

Celebrated IAS couple Tina Dabi, Athar Khan granted divorce by Jaipur court
New Delhi, August 11:–Indian Administrative Service (IAS) toppers Tina Dabi and Athar Khan have been granted divorce by a Jaipur family court. The couple had filed for divorce by mutual consent in November last year.
Dabi had secured the first rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations in 2015. Khan, who is from Anantnag in Kashmir, had ranked second. According to reports, they met and fell in love while undergoing training at the Department of Personnel and Training office in Delhi.
Dabi and Khan got married in 2018 in a high-profile wedding. The reception was attended by high-ranking politicians such as Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and then Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
Both officials belong to the Rajasthan cadre and were initially posted in Jaipur. Khan is presently posted in Srinagar on deputation with the Jammu and Kashmir government, while Dabi joined the government of Rajasthan as the joint secretary (finance) in November 2020. She is also an honorary advisor to the steering committee of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) Young Leaders.
The duo’s wedding had generated headlines with several politicians and dignitaries congratulating and praising them for tying the knot. But the couple also faced severe backlash. The Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha had declared the interfaith marriage as a case of ‘love jihad’. Amid the uproar, Dabi had stated that her marriage was above religious divides, adding that she was unaffected by the controversy.
Dabi, a graduate of political science from Delhi’s Lady Shri Ram College, was the first Dalit to top the civil services exam. She had secured the position on her first attempt.

Rajouri August 11:–District Information Center Rajouri in collaboration with Health Department Kandi organised a one week awareness program and workshops on COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
The program commenced this Monday and will go on for the whole week covering a vast area of Block Kotranka.
On its first day, it was successfully conducted at CHC Kandi and GDC Budhal under the supervision of BMO Kandi Dr Iqbal Malik where a large number of people participated including PRIs, LokMitras, Police, Teachers, ASHA workers, senior community members among others. SEHAT Health Card registration booths and Vaccination camps were also organised at the sites for the convenience of the public.The workshops are aimed at imparting knowledge at mass level so that desirable behavioral change can be attained. This will help in averting the anticipated 3rd wave of COVID.
Healthcare experts including Doctors interacted with the public and stressed on the importance of COVID appropriate behaviour like wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing and hand washing. These workshops are being conducted under the overall supervision of DDC Rajouri Rajesh K Shavan (KAS) and continuous guidance and support of Dr Shamim Bhatti, CMO Rajouri and district information officer,Rajouri Narinder Rana. -
BANGUS AWAAM MELA’ CELEBRATED WITH FERVOUR IN THE VERDANT LOKUT BANGUS VALLEY

Handwara August 11:–Soundly rejecting the efforts of Pakistan to create a false narrative around the Anniversary of Abrogation of Article 370 in J&K, Kashmiris today celebrated the event by holding the Bangus Awaam Mela in District Kupwara with great fanfare. The Annual Festival saw the participation of hundreds of Gujjars, Bakarwals and other Kashmiri sightseers from Kupwara, Tangdhar and Handwara. The Mela was conducted over two days commencing on 10th August with the grand finale on 11th August.
The first day saw the conduct of Village Games which saw competitions like Horse Racing, Sheep Shepherding Challenge, Tugs of War and Wood Chopping Competitions between the Gujjar Bakarwal & Pahari Community from various Bhaiks who inhabit the beautiful meadows during the summer months from ages.
On the request of the community members, a free Veterinary and Medical Camp was also organised by the local Rashtriya Rifles unit, under Chinar Corps, over the two day festival. The Veterinary and Medical Camp was organised with an aim to provide basic health care facilities alongwith free medicines to the locals who are residing in the remote region of Bangus Valley and do not have an access to the basic medical facilities. This camp proved to be a great success as it met the aspirations of locals and provided much needed medical relief to them. The veterinary and medical camps were a combined effort of the Army and Civil Medical Authorities from Handwara region. A total of 492 patients incl 90 children were given treatment, advice and free medicines by the doctors. The veterinary camp provided medical aid to 700 livestock in addition to surgical assistance to wounded.
The Second day of the event was witnessed by Manoj Sinha, Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Lieutenant General YK Joshi, UYSM, AVSM, VrC, SM. Also present on the occasion were Lieutenant General DP Pandey, AVSM, VSM GOC, Chinar Corps & Major General HS Sahi, YSM, SM, GOC, Counter Insurgency Force (K). The Lieutenant Governor addressed the large gathering and witnessed the traditional programs organised by local Gujjar and Bakarwal community and the finals of village games. The LG also went around the mela venue and appreciated the heritage cuisine stalls set up under the aegis of DDC Rajwar, Mr Suleiman Mir. Later, speaking on the occasion, the LG said that it is mesmerizing to see such large gathering at the beautiful valley of Bangus. He also said that govt will now work rigorously for overall development of Bangus Valley & it’s infrastructure.
The day also saw the audience enjoying folk songs by the Gujjar community, patriotic songs by the local children, dances and a Karate Display by the Handwara Kudo Association in addition to the village games. The event culminated by a rousing participation in the recitation of the National Anthem and a vote of thanks by the Community elders to the Army for its support. -

Srinagar August 11:– In a statement to different media groups Hakim Suhail Abbas Kashmiri has said that so called organisations and Leaders are playing with the sentiments of their own people by giving irresponsible statements on Muharaam Processions which was once upon a time organised with great respect.
If it is not possible by their end they should not play politics with this holy mission and better remain silent on the issue.
He further added these Dalgate- Abi Guzar processions will be a dream for the future generations because no-one is true helper, well wisher, and comforter to make it possible. As it is equal to bell the cat for them.
Hakim paid rich tributes to Moula Imam Hussain (As) who sacrificed everything for the cause of humanity and welfare of generation to come.

Terrorist launch pads activated again, about 300 terrorists camping near LoC, DGP.

While briefing the media persons at District Police Line (DPL) at Rajouri, Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police (DGP) claimed that as per their information 57 local youths who went to Pakistan/PoJK on valid tourist and student visas have been trained for militancy-related activities and about 17 are still active in Pakistan.
“These youths traveled to Pakistan/PoJK on valid visa documents during 2017-18, but 30 returned back via LoC after joining militancy. Forces so far have killed 17 while 13 are still active (in J&K and are under constant police surveillance)” said DGP.
The DGP said after the February ceasefire agreement, there was a decline in the infiltration attempts, but now terrorist’s launching pads have been made operational again.
“Attempts are on to push terrorists from across the border. 250 to 300 trained terrorists are waiting in the launch pads to be pushed to this side . Four new groups have also entered in this area,” said DGP.
He added one group was eliminated in Dadal area in Sunderbani sector, another in Nowshera sector, while the search & destroy operation is still on in Panghai village in Thanamandi area where two militants have been killed and a few are still hiding and the fourth group is either hiding in the area (Rajouri & Poonch districts) or have crossed to Shopian in Kashmir.
“Security Forces have strengthened the anti-infiltration grid after reports of the presence of terrorists near the border to foil infiltration attempts.
“One among killed has been identified and claimed by a family (from Shopian) and family’s samples have been collected for DNA matching. Identified as Ramees Ahmed Tantray had gone to Pakistan in 2018 on a valid Indian Passport. The identity of the second is yet to be established, however, he could be a Pakistani national.
On Hawala network, Dilbag Singh, DGP said: “Efforts are on to curtail Hawala funding channels meant for financing terrorists’ activities. Recently NIA has raided several locations in Jammu and Kashmir provinces for Last year Rs1.5 crore were recovered in the Kupwara district.
