Handwara cyclists peddle 80 kms in one go, covers distance from Handwara to Srinagar in 10 hours

Handwara, July 6 :-‘The super talented cyclists of Handwara peddled from Handwara to Srinagar in 10 Hours.
The journey started from Handwara main chowk and culminated at Srinagar by covering the distance of 80 kms.
The young athletes, who hail from Magam area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, covered the distance from Handwara to Srinagar in 10 Hours.
Later a felicitation ceremony was organized for their honour during which these cyclists were facilitated by Handwara Traders Federation President Ajaz Sofi.

Rajouri police holds series of public meetings across district Appeal civil society members to be an alert citizen
Rajouri July 06:– In order to strengthen the bridge between police and public and to get first hand appraisal of public issues, police authorities here in Rajouri organised a series of public meetings across the district especially in far flung and peripheral areas.
In an official statement issued here by police, these public meetings were organised at Budhal and Kotranka Kandi by Deputy SP PC Rajouri alongwith concerned SHOs, in Manjakote by SDPO Manjakote alongwith SHO, in Khawas by police team from police post, in Nowshera by AdSP Nowshera alongwith SDPO Nowshera and SHO Nowshera, in Teryath by local police post team, in Irwan Khanetar by Incharge Police Post Rajouri city, in Shahdra Sharif by SHO Thanamandi, in Lam by local police post team.
During these meetings, local civil society members, traders, transporters and other stakeholders of society took part who all put forth different issues concerning masses.
Police officials chairing these meetings gave a patient hearing to the issues and grievances put forth by participants further assuring them that all issues concerning other departments shall be taken up at appropriate platform through District Police Office while issues pertaining to police shall be solved at the earliest.
The participants were also made aware about some social evils and crime like drugs addiction, domestic violence which need constructive approach of civil society also.
In relation to drugs addiction, participants were requested to follow practices of upliftment of moral values among their wards at home which is best prevention to this crime.

JKRETTF district unit Ramban demanded fulfilment of vacant post of ZEO Banihal Appealed for release of Salary for the month of June before eid
Banihal, July 6: Banihal, July 6: Jammu and Kashmir rehabar -e -taleem teachers forum ( JKRETTF) District Unit Ramban demanded filling of vacant post of Zonal education officer ( ZEO) in education zone Banihal of district Ramban which is lying vacant from last about two years.
According to a press release issued here by the forum chief spokesman MA wani said that forum district president Ramban Farooq Ahmed Rounyal and zonal president Banihal BA mir and other representatives of the forum ,thanked the Principal Secretary education, director school education Jammu and chief education officer Ramban for filling up the other vacant posts of Zonal Education Officer ( ZEOs) in Ramban district.They said that that DDO powers of ZEO in education zone Banihal was lying with principal boys higher secondary school Banihal and after his recent transfer the zone is without DDO.
Forum leaders added that Eid is also coming up in this month but due to the absence of DDO, the salary bills for the month of June have not been signed yet.
They more said that the post of ZEO is lying vacant in Banihal from last two years due to which teachers and other employees of the department and students are facing difficulties. They appealed to higher authorities of the department that the vacant post of ZEO in the education zone Banihal of the district should be filled soon so, that the employees and students do not suffer any more . -
Rajouri Administration initiates data collection exercise for transgenders Transgenders to get due social status in Rajouri; DC Rajouri
RAJOURI, JULY 06: To enable transgenders to live a dignified life in society, the District Administration Rajouri under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan has started the survey regarding the collection of data for this section of the society.
Pertinently, today, a deputation of the transgenders met the Deputy Commissioner and apprised him of several issues and demands about their day to day life and sought the redressal of the same.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the representative of the transgenders and noted all the issues confronting them in day to day life plus the social and economic issues related to them. He also enquired about their specific problems during the covid period.
The Deputy Commissioner ensured them that the District Administration Rajouri is committed to ensure the wellbeing of the transgender community in the district, and all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased phases.
Soon after meeting the deputation, the Deputy Commissioner passed instructions to the concerned Authorities to initiate the process of collecting data regarding the transgenders in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also said, “Now the need of an hour is to recognise the rights of transgenders as a separate category and to extend appropriate support to them so as to ensure a dignified life for them.”
“The data regarding transgenders collected in the district would help the District Administration to take all possible measures for the wellbeing and upliftment of the transgenders in the society so that they don’t face any inconveniences and live a normal life”, the Deputy Commissioner added.
