RAJOURI, JULY 04:– District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today paid a visit to the Nowshera subdivision and inspected the pace of many developmental projects being executed there.
The District Development Commissioner was accompanied by the DDC Member Nowshera; Dr Manohar Singh; DDC Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Sharma; EXN PWD, DIO, Narinder Kumar; Tehsildar Nowshera and Station House Officer.
President Beopar Mandal Nowshera, Chairman MC Nowshera, Surinder Sharma and Counsellor, Rohit Kohli also accompanied the DDC during his visit.
At Mohalla Darshan road, the DDC asked the concerned Executive Engineer from PWD to complete the work on blacktopping of the road within seven days and repair the dilapidated drain along the roadside so that the runoff of the water is directly carried by the drains.
While taking stock of the roads being blacktopped in the subdivision, the concerned Executive Engineer from the PWD informed that as many as 57 roads are being blacktopped in the Nowshera subdivision of which 31 road projects would be blacktopped in ten days.
Similarly, the District Development Commissioner also visited many other developmental projects of the subdivision and internal roads including Beripatan road, PCP to Nowshera town road etc and directed the concerned officers to mobilise their men and machinery and ensure that the work on the projects is completed within the set timelines for the benefit of the general public.
The District Development Commissioner asked the concerned officer from the PWD to immediately start the work on the water conservation-related projects in the subdivision for the conservation and preservation of freshwater.
The concerned officer from the BRO has been directed to blacktop all the internal roads of the subdivision and fill the potholes and ensure their proper maintenance for the convenience of the general public.
The District Development Commissioner directed the officers concerned to adhere to the timelines for completion and continuous monitoring for maintaining the quality of works to meet the developmental aspirations of the general public.
Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner also met several deputations of the public who apprised him about many issues and demands of their areas including making the filtration plant in the town functional, absence of Pediatrician from duty, providing the power supply of the Grid station siot to Nowshera, water supply schemes at Ghora and lower Nonial are affected due to shortage of pipes, commissioning of 6.3 MVA transformer at Darshan Nagar besides other related issues were projected by the public.
The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands of the public project on the occasion and assured them that all of their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.
Concerning the filtration plant in the town, the DDC asked the concerned officer from the Jal Shakti Department to complete the remaining work on the plant and make the same functions with the shortest possible time to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
Regarding the absence of the Pediatrician from duty, the DDC asked the concerned Tehsildar to look into the matter and resolve the matter immediately.
Similarly, necessary directions were passed on to the concerned officers for the resolution of the other issues and demands raised by the public during the tour.
