    DDC Rajouri visits Nowshera; Inspects number of developmental projects; Interacts with public deputations

    RAJOURI, JULY 04:– District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today paid a visit to the Nowshera subdivision and inspected the pace of many developmental projects being executed there.

    The District Development Commissioner was accompanied by the DDC Member Nowshera; Dr Manohar Singh; DDC Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Sharma; EXN PWD, DIO, Narinder Kumar; Tehsildar Nowshera and Station House Officer.

    President Beopar Mandal Nowshera, Chairman MC Nowshera, Surinder Sharma and Counsellor, Rohit Kohli also accompanied the DDC during his visit.

    At Mohalla Darshan road, the DDC asked the concerned Executive Engineer from PWD to complete the work on blacktopping of the road within seven days and repair the dilapidated drain along the roadside so that the runoff of the water is directly carried by the drains.

    While taking stock of the roads being blacktopped in the subdivision, the concerned Executive Engineer from the PWD informed that as many as 57 roads are being blacktopped in the Nowshera subdivision of which 31 road projects would be blacktopped in ten days.

    Similarly, the District Development Commissioner also visited many other developmental projects of the subdivision and internal roads including Beripatan road, PCP to Nowshera town road etc and directed the concerned officers to mobilise their men and machinery and ensure that the work on the projects is completed within the set timelines for the benefit of the general public.

    The District Development Commissioner asked the concerned officer from the PWD to immediately start the work on the water conservation-related projects in the subdivision for the conservation and preservation of freshwater.

    The concerned officer from the BRO has been directed to blacktop all the internal roads of the subdivision and fill the potholes and ensure their proper maintenance for the convenience of the general public.

    The District Development Commissioner directed the officers concerned to adhere to the timelines for completion and continuous monitoring for maintaining the quality of works to meet the developmental aspirations of the general public.

    Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner also met several deputations of the public who apprised him about many issues and demands of their areas including making the filtration plant in the town functional, absence of Pediatrician from duty, providing the power supply of the Grid station siot to Nowshera, water supply schemes at Ghora and lower Nonial are affected due to shortage of pipes, commissioning of 6.3 MVA transformer at Darshan Nagar besides other related issues were projected by the public.

    The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands of the public project on the occasion and assured them that all of their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.

    Concerning the filtration plant in the town, the DDC asked the concerned officer from the Jal Shakti Department to complete the remaining work on the plant and make the same functions with the shortest possible time to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

    Regarding the absence of the Pediatrician from duty, the DDC asked the concerned Tehsildar to look into the matter and resolve the matter immediately.

    Similarly, necessary directions were passed on to the concerned officers for the resolution of the other issues and demands raised by the public during the tour.

    BUNJWAH JULY 04 :–In a major controversy of non-functioning of Block Development Office Bunjwah from block headquarter Bunjwah, Choudhary Maryam Block Development council chairperson Bunjwah approached Jammu and Kashmir Governor Grievance Cell and Anti Corruption Bearue for redressal of genuine demand of functioning of Block Development office Bunjwah from Block headquarters Bunjwah.

    As per the details available, BDC Chairperson filed a grievance in the grievance cell Vide. ID 999001909038 dated 23/02/2021 subjecting the complaint regarding conducting a free and fair inquiry into the huge bungling and running of nexus in MGNREGA material payment in all panchayats of Block Bunjwah during the financial year 2018 to 2021and alleged illegal crediting of crores in the bank account number of PRIs, their family members and close associates by showing them dummy vendors for non executed or lesser executed works on the ground. After a wait of more than three months, BDC Chairperson again filed a grievance in JK Grievance cell vide 999002046975 dated 08/05/2021 and Anti-Corruption Bearue Online Portal vide ACBJK21000267 dated 08/05/2021 subjecting to the non-functioning of the Block Development Office at Block headquarters Bunjwah and alleged misappropriation, huge embezzlement and running of the whole nexus from the hired room at OM Mehta road Kishtwar thereby demanding the conducting of trap team to unearth the nexus of RDD Block Bunjwah running illegally from the hired room at OM Mehta road Kishtwar.

    While divulging the details, BDC Chairperson Choudhary Maryam Begum said that various times I raised the issue before District Administration kishtwar but all went in vain due to the undue benefits of BDO Bunjwah. Adding that various times I visited the official establishment in Bunjwah but was found locked and it becomes the need of the hour to approach Honorable Lieutenant Governor Grievance Cell and Anti-corruption Bearue for making the functioning of office smoothly from Block headquarter Bunjwah.

    Choudary Maryam Begum added that Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwarr Vide No. ACDK/ACB-816/2021-22/2138-39 dated 22/06/2021 directing the concerned BDO to go through the content of the complaint and submit a detailed report within five days positively enabling this office to inquiry the matter.

    BDC Chairperson further added that BDO Bunjwah is trying horse-trading and is emotionally blackmailing asking me for giving a letter submitted that the office is functioning from Bunjwah.

    It is important to mention here that various times the non-functioning of office from Block headquarter was raised but the administration acted as mute spectators. Choudhary Maryam had sought the personal intervention of Honorable Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Kumar Sinha and Director Anti Corruption Bearue for conducting a raid and constituting of trap team to unearthed the running of illegal nexus from OM Mehta road Kishtwar.

    :–On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch,Sh Inder Jeet, KAS, and under the supervision of Tehsildar Surankote, Sh. Sheraz Chauhan, (KAS) continuous efforts to retrieve the State from illegal occupants has been started in Tehsil Surankote. On 02/07/2021 the team of revenue officials along with Police team from police station Surankote retrieved 346 kanals of state Land from the illegal occupants in village Malhan of Surankote.
    While talking to gnsonline, Tehsildar Surankote told that, the process shall continue with full momentum and with targeted approach to retrieve all the government land from the illegal occupants and that strict action shall be taken against those found encroaching the retrieved land again.
    After retrieving the land, the same is being put under the supervision of concerned Lamberdar and Chowkidar. When asked about the structures raised on the state Land, Tehsildar Surankote Sheraz Ahmed Chauhan (KAS) told media persons that any type of encroachment shall be removed following due procedure of law. And administration will leave no stone unturned in retrieving State land from illegal occupants.
