Rajouri June 26 :-‘GMC Rajouri in collaboration with police and Health Block Kandi today observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
At GMC function was chaired by Dr.Brij Mohan Gupta, Principal, GMC and at Kandi (Kotranka) Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO supervised the function.
“Substance abuse and the illicit trafficking of the drugs is an evil in our society and disorientation among the majority of the youth. Keeping in view of the growing menace and the deterioration of life, the General Assembly at the UN in December 1987 designated June 26 to be celebrated as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” said Dr, Mehmood Hussain Bajar, Medical Superintendent, GMC.
The 21st Century with its greater communication and technical skill has also enabled a greater dissemination of the cause of Anti Drug Abuse worldwide.
Drug trafficking once viewed largely as a social & criminal problem, has transformed in recent years into a major threat to the health & security of people in the region.
Drug dependence is a disease, not a crime. The real criminals are the drug traffickers.
“The supply side is only half of the equation. Unless we reduce demand for illicit drugs, we can never fully tackle cultivation, production, or trafficking” said Dr. Mehmood.
Families, schools, civil society, and religious organisations can do their part to rid their communities of drugs.
Media can also raise awareness about the dangers of the narcotics.
The in-charge de-addiction center, GMC, Ishtiaq Bhat & counselor of the drug de-addiction center Akshdeep also spoke on the occasion.
At Kotranka the day was celebrated at Community Health Center under the overall supervision of Dr.Renu Sharma, Director, Health Services (Jammu) & Dr.Shamim Bhatti, CMO Rajouri.
“As per National Drug Dependence Treatment Center report, at the national level about 14.6% of the people (approximately16 crores) between the age group of 10-75 are current users of alcohol and about 3.1 crores have reported using any cannabis” said Dr.Iqbal Malik, BMO.
Mohd Ayub Lone, Community Health Officer also spoke on this occasion.

Address the grievances of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers:Dr Nazia Ghani
Poonch June 26: DDC member Dr Nazia Ghani district appeal Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha to address the geniune demands of Rehbar-e-Khel Physical Education teachers.She appealed Government to reduce probation period of the Rehbar-e-khel Physical Education teachers in the Union Territory to two years from seven years to confirm their services.She said, Rehbar-e-Khel Physical education teachers have been working in the department at paltry remuneration of Rs 3000 per month as a result of which they are facing tremendous difficulties to run their families. Rehbar-e-khel physical Education teachers Association president district Poonch Pervaiz Malik Afridi had talked to DDC member Nazia Ghani and put their demands before her by which the member of District Development Council, NSSB. Dr Nazia Ghani assured him that she would do her best to meet demands of Rehbar-e-Khel Physical Education Teachers.

INDIAN ARMY DISTRIBUTED COVID PRECAUTION KITS

SURANKOTE JUNE 26 :– Indian Army in it’s constant endeavour to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, distributed COVID precaution kits to BPL people of adopted village Sangla and Bafliaz. These areas lack basic medical infrastructure and are cutoff from the mainland. The COVID precaution kits distributed included Sanitizers, Surgical Masks, Face Shields, Gloves, Soaps and placing of awareness Flex Board at prominent places. A live demonstration was also carried out by the company commander on essential steps to be taken to avoid spread of corona virus. The people were also advised to adhere on the guidelines for aversion of the disease. This effort of Indian Army was highly appreciated by the locals and civil administration. -
DC Rajouri calls for effective measures to check illegal extraction of minerals
RAJOURI, JUNE 26: The Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss with them the issues regarding illegal mining in the district.
Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep; DFO Nowshera, Suresh Manda; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Additional SP, Vivek Shekhar; ExEn I & FC Rajouri, Sageer Malik; ExEn I&FC Nowshera, Mohd Hussain besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed various preventive measures to control and curb the illegal extraction of minerals including sand and bajri from mineral blocks across the district.
While speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that several complaints are pouring in from the general public about the illegal mining being carried out in some mineral blocks of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that no illegal mineral extraction activities are done in the district and stressed for zero tolerance in this regard and retariated that coordinated efforts are required to curb the menace of illegal extraction of minerals in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the extraction of legal mining shall be allowed after proper permission from the authorities to ensure that developmental works don’t suffer. Besides, he stressed for proper checking at all vulnerable sites to curb and stop the illegal extraction of river bed material.
The Deputy Commissioner said that environment clearance meetings would be conducted for all the thirty e-auctioned minor mineral blocks in the district and asked the concerned officers to ensure the maximum participation of the general public in these meetings so that their genuine concerns regarding mining can be addressed on priority.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the concerned officers from the Forest Department to carry out a massive plantation drive to enhance the green cover in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that community led participation in the afforestation process is a must and asked the concerned officers to generate massive awareness among the common masses about the importance of trees in life.

DDC Rajouri inspects developmental works in the Township; Sets deadlines for completion ;Reviews implementation of COVID19 SOPs guidelines
RAJOURI, JUNE 26: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today made an extensive round of the city and inspected the ongoing developmental works being executed in the Township.
Among the others, ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Additional SP, Vivek Shekhar; Tehsildar Rajouri, Mohd Rafeeq; EO MC Rajouri, Mohd Yaqoob; AEE PWD North, Mohd Qasim; AEE PWD South, Server Mehmood besides other concerned officers accompanied the DDC.
President MC Rajouri, Mohd Arief; President Beopar Mandal, Rajesh Gupta; ward counsellor, Pushpinder Gupta; ward Counsellor, Sanjay Sharma and other prominent citizens also accompanied the DDC during his tour.
The projects inspected today include double laning of Abdullah bridge, Circular road, Bela road Old Bus Stand, labour commissioner office building and GMC Rajouri.
At Circular road, which is an important alternate link within the town connecting New bridge to Tariq bridge, thereby reducing the overall distance by around 4-5 kilometers, it was informed that the work on retaining wall and shingle of the road is in progress.T he DDC asked the concerned officer to speed up the work on the road so that it can be completed within the shortest possible time.
Concerning the progress on Bella road, which connects Alternate Abdullah Bridge to Rajouri –Thanamandi road, by passing congested Gujjar Mandi Chowk, the DDC asked the concerned officer to work in double shifts and make sure that the work on the road is completed in twenty days.
While inspecting the progress on building of the labour department, the DDC was apprised that the finishing work on the building is in progress.The DDC asked the concerned Executing Agency to complete the work on the building by 25th July this year.
At Old Bus Stand, the concerned officer informed that the work of Wet Mix macadamization is complete and the work on blacktopping the Bus Stand would be started soon.
Concerning the double-laning of Abdullah Bridge with a total length of 120 meters, it was informed that the project has been approved under languishing scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 4.78 crores.The DDC showed his satisfaction over the work progress and asked the concerned officer from the Executing agency to further speed up the work on the bridge and get it completed in all respects by 25th July this this year.
At Government Medical College Rajouri which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 139 crores, the DDC expressed huge dismay over the sluggish work performance of the Executing Agency on Administrative and Academic block and set the deadline of one month for completing the work on both the blocks besides he also warned the contractor for blacklisting if the said work is not completed within set deadlines.
At Sheema Crossing chowk, the DDC asked the concerned officers from the PWD and EO MC Rajouri to take concrete measures for the beautification of the chowk as chowks are main entry points to the town and hence need proper upkeep.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to adhere to the timelines for completion and continuous monitoring for maintaining the quality of works to meet the developmental aspirations of the general public.
The DDC also paid a visit to the tehsil office and asked the Tehsildar to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in the premises of the institution. He also visited the filtration plant located at ward No.09 of the town and asked the EO MC to ensure proper cleanliness there.
Meanwhile, the DDC also made a round of the market and its adjoining areas to review the implementation of the COVID related SOPs and urged upon the masses to keep following the Covid Appropriate Behaviour to stay safe from the viral infection.
The DDC also appealed to them to get themselves inoculated for COVID19 and said that vaccination and Covid appropriate behaviour are the two key weapons to defeat the pandemic.

Burglar committing thefts in religious places arrested in Rajouri
Rajouri June 26:–The Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri solved two cases of theft and attempted theft in religious places and arrested main accused while he was trying to steal valuables from a shrine.
Police said that in the intervening night of 21st and 22nd June, on a specific tip regarding movement of a suspect in Gambhir Brahmana area of Rajouri, team of police headed by SHO Manjakote Farooq Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Manjakote Tanver Jeelani apprehended one person namely Arif Hussain son of Abdul Hussain resident of Darhal Kurhad while he was trying to steal valuables from Peer Baba Ziarat situated at Ghambir Brahmana.
In this connection an instant case FIR No 98/2021 was registere at Police Station Manjakot under section 379, 511 IPC and police team started investigation.
During questioning, the accused confessed that he had also committed theft at Shiv Mandir Ghambir Brahmana on the intervening night of 12 and 13 June and stolen rupees five to six hundred.
During this investigation, police team also recovered a small pictures stolen from the temple at Ghambir Brahmna after which said accused was also found involved in case FIR no 89 /of 2021 under sections 457,378,295 IPC of 13/06/2021.
Further investigation is under progress.

Jammu, June 26 :– J&K Pradesh Congress Vichar Vibhag organised a webinar on post all party meet ground impact over Jammu and Kashmir in which Vichar Vibhag AICC Coordinator, Adv. Ashok Sharma, Pradesh Chairman, Capt. L. K. Sharma, South Kashmir Coordinator, Ghulam Hussain Bhatt, North West Jammu Coordinator Col. Bana Ram, South Jammu Coordinator, Jatinder Bhagat, Veteran Social Activist, Kr. Baldev Singh, District General Secretary Vichar Vibhag, Sarpanch Kewal Sharma, R. C. While welcoming all party meeting, “Congress leadership role was highly appreciable” said Mr. Ashok Sharma while addressing the meeting.
He said that the participation of Ghulam Nabi Azad former LOP and Union Minister, PCC President G. A. Mir and former Dy. CM Tara Chand who converted a non-agenda all party meeting into a five point agenda meeting and almost all the participants appreciated the same.
Mr. Sharma expressed happiness over the change of mind set by the Prime Minister with regard to Congress Mukth bharat and initiated to resolve J&K crisis with the aid and assistance of Congress. In fact in democracy the government and opposition are two parallel tyres like that of a motorcycle or train track it cannot run without parallel functioning of both the organs.

مہنڈھر// محکمہ صحت عامہ کے ظلم و زیادتیوں کا ایک بڑا ثبوت منظر عام ہو چکا ہے گزشتہ روز ایک مصدقہ اطلاعات ملنے پر انتظامیہ نے کاروائی کرتے ہوئے بھاری مقدار میں محکمہ پی۔ایچ۔ای۔ کی زخیرہ شدہ پایپیں ضبط کر لی گئی ہیں ضلع ترقیاتی کمیشنر صاحب محکمہ صحت عامہ کی کارکردگی کے متعلق ایک بااختیار کمیشن کے ذریعہ انکوائری کرواۓ تاکہ دودھ کا دودھ اور پانی کا پانی عوام کے سامنے آسکے۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار نیشنل کانفرنس مہنڈھر کے سکریٹری اور سرپنچ پنچائیت حلقۂ چھجلہ اپر نے اخبارات کے نام جاری آپنے ایک تحریری بیان میں کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کے اندازے کے مطابق سب ڈویژن مہنڈھر کی تمام پنچائتوں میں ایک سے دو لیفٹ اسکیمیں منظور ہو چکی ہوئی ہئں لیکن بدقسمتی سے سے ان اسکیموں میں سے کوئی ایک اسکیم بھی مکمل طور پر قابل استعمال نہیں ہے جس سے اس پسماندہ خطۂ کی مظلوم عوام کو پینے کا پانی دستیاب ہوتا ہو۔ سعید چوہدری نے کہا کے بعض ایسی اسکیمیں بھی یہاں موجود ہیں جو گذشتہ 15 سالوں سے زیرِ تعمیر ہیں اور تاوقت نامکمل ہیں اور یہاں کے مظلوم عوام پانی کی ایک ایک بوند کے ترس رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کے سرحدی سب ڈویژن مہنڈھر کی%80 فیصد آبادی عین لائن آف کنٹرول پر آباد ہے اور اس سرحدی خطۂ میں قدرتی چشمے بڑی کم مقدار میں پائے جاتے ہیں ایسی صورت حال میں یہاں کے مظلوم عوام کو آٹھ سے دس کلومیٹر دور سے پرایویٹ گاڑیوں پر پینے کا پانی لانا پڑتا ہے جو عام آدمی کے بس سے باہر ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کے محکمہ صحت عامہ کی ظلم و زیادتیوں کی انتہا دیکھئے پورے سب ڈویژن میں جس قدر لیفٹ اسکیمیں زیرِ تعمیر ہیں ان میں سے ایک اسکیم بھی مکمل طور پر قابل استعمال نہیں ہے جبکہ ان اسکیموں پر قومی خزانے سے کھربوں روپے خرچ کئے جا چکے ہیں۔ سعید چوہدری نے کہا کے سب ڈویژن مہنڈھر میں محکمہ صحت عامہ کی زیرِ نگرانی تمام لیفٹ اسکیموں کے متعلق ایک بااختیار کمیشن کے ذریعہ انکوائری کرائی جائے تاکہ اصل حقائق عوام کے سامنے آسکیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کے قومی خزانے کو لوٹنے والے کسی بڑے دہشت گرد سے کم نہیں ہیں اور ان رشوت خور سرکاری اہلکاروں کی پشت پناہی کرنے والے بھی ملک دشمن عناصر کی فہرست میں شامل ہیں انہوں نے ریاستی گورنر انتظامیہ سے پرزور مطالبہ کرتے ہوئے مانگ کی سب ڈویژن مہنڈھر میں جس قدر بھی لیفٹ اسکیمیں زیرِ تعمیر ہیں ان کے متعلق ایک بااختیار کمیشن کے ذریعہ انکوائری کرواۓ جاۓ تاکہ عوام خصوصاً سرکار کو اصل حقائق اندازہ ہو سکے آیا ان تمام اسکیموں پر خرچ ہونے والے رقومات کی تعداد کتنی ہے اور کیا اس رقومات کا صحیح استعمال کیا گیا ہے یا نہیں؟؟ اور اگر اس بڑی مقدار میں خرچ ہونے والی رقومات کا صحیح استعمال نہیں کیا گیا ہے تو اس جرم کا مرتکب کون ہے؟؟ -
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha skipped son’s wedding to attend PM Modi’s all-party meeting
NEW DELHI: Several netizens took to Twitter to hail Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Union of Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, for his outstanding commitment towards public service after it was revealed that the Manoj Sinha had skipped his son’s wedding to attend the crucial all-party meeting with Prime Minister to discuss the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
Social media users highlighted that J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was present at the all-party meeting with Prime Minister Modi on Thursday at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi, which was held on the same day as his son’s wedding.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an important with the various stakeholders of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss the future developmental process to be initiated in the state. In the 3-hour meeting with political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi and several other leaders spoke about the way ahead for Jammu and Kashmir.
Manoj Sinha, who is currently the first citizen of the Union Territory, in his official capacity as the Lieutenant Governor of Union of Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, had participated in the all-party meeting held in PM Modi’s official residence in the national capital on Thursday.
However, only a handful of people knew that the Manoj Sinha had come straight out of his son’s wedding to attend the crucial meeting. It is being said that only after the completion of the meeting with PM Modi, Manoj Sinha left the Prime Minister’s residence to reach the wedding venue.
Senior BJP leaders and Union Ministers attended the wedding and posted the images of the event later in the day.As the news surfaced that Manoj Sinha had not attended his son’s wedding to be at PM Modi’s residence to discuss the issues of Jammu and Kashmir, netizens hailed his commitment towards the development of the union territory and the country.
Several netizens paid their respects to Manoj Sinha for staying away from his family on one of the most important days of his personal life.Manoj Sinha, who was the Minister of State for Railways in the first Modi government, was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir by President Ram Nath Kovind on August 6, 2020. He replaced former IAS officer Girish Chandra Murmu who was appointed as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Manoj Sinha was also in charge of the Telecom ministry under the Modi government. The three-time from Ghazipur had lost the 2019 general elections to BSP’s Afzal Ansari.

Three health officials of BMO office (Darhal) suspended/attached. Inquiry in progress.

Three health officials (dealing accounts) posted in the office of BMO Darhal have been suspended & attached in the office of CMO after allegations that they were drawing enhanced salaries allegedly by adopting unfair means.
Chief for Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri has suspended the trio after the matter was brought to her notice & also constituted an inquiry team to investigate the allegations.
The trio including two junior assistants and a senior assistant , besides drawing enhanced salaries reportedly were also involved in getting undue benefits of allowances using unfair means.
The inquiry team includes two Block Medical Officers, a senior Assistant and two Accounts Assistants.
Sources said in this regard a written complaint was lodged with the Commissioner/Secretary Health & Family Welfare through Health Society Darhal with a copy to Director health Services, District Development Commissioner Rajouri and CMO Rajouri.
The inquiry was initiated after directions from DDC office. In the complaint, it was said that the said officials for the last many months were drawing enhanced salary reportedly by showing their basic pay more than their original basic pay.(for example, drawing Rs 40000/ instead original salary Rs 25000).
Whether the matter was in the notice of concerned Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs), BMOs (present & successive) or not is a matter of detailed inquiry which is underway.
Reportedly the complaint was made, along with a copy of pay invoice showing enhanced salary & duly signed by the DDO.
The Complainant also alleged that the said officials allegedly were also withdrawing excess salary for an IVth class employee by showing him in high post and were sharing the booty.
The officials in question reportedly were also withdrawing education allowances fraudulently while one among them has no child, as per the complainant. .
Dr. Shamim Ul Nisa, Chief Medical Officer, said: “The allegations/complaint is under investigation. Inquiry is in progress. Can’t divulge any detail at this juncture”.
