    BHADERWAH : District Legal Services Authority Bhaderwah in collaboration with forest department Bhaderwah celebrated World Environment Day by organising plantation drive in the premises of District Court Complex  and an awareness webinar here today under the direction of Chairman DLSA and supervision of Secretary DLSA  ( Sub Judge ) Mudassir Farooq  and Mobile Magistrate Bhaderwah Munish K Manhas . Advocate Manjeet Razdan , Prof Wahied Khawar Balwan and  Prof Mushtaq Kichloo were resource persons on the occasion where as Advocate Joginder Goswami , Advocate Mohd Majid Malik , Ranger officer Neeru Aftab Ahmed , forester town Bhaderwah and other prominent persons also participated .  Speaking on the occasion resource person Advocate Manjeet Razdan said  on June 5 every year, around the globe celebrate World Environment Day, encourage awareness, and observe its protection. Since 1974, World Environment Day has been celebrated, engaging governments, businesses, and citizens in an effort to address pressing environmental issues, with participation from over 143 countries annually, he informed .  Prof Wahied Khawar Balwan said that  this year, the theme of World Environment Day is “Reimagine. Recreate. Restore and added that  the theme focuses that healthy ecosystems can enhance people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change and stop the collapse of biodiversity. He also informed that every three seconds, the world loses enough forest to cover a football pitch, and over the last century, humans have destroyed half of the wetlands. As much as 50 per cent of coral reefs have already been lost and up to 90 per cent of coral reefs could be lost by 2050, even if global warming is limited to an increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius , Prof Balwan said .Meanwhile Advocate Sunil Kumar Sharma also organised an awareness programme in Bhalla area and planted one dozen saplings and aware people about importance of pollution free environment.

    SHOPIAN JUNE 05:-The Deputy Commissioner Shopian Sachin Kumar Vaishya today said that strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs, following corona curfew in letter and spirit, containment measures, aggressive testing and contact tracing besides cent percent vaccination of persons above 45 years have been the key in containing spread of the deadly virus in the district, bringing down positivity rate and restricting the number of deaths during second wave of Corona.

    Sharing details regarding Covid-19 situation in Shopian district, the Deputy Commissioner said that the positivity rate has shown a steep decline from peak 15.1% to 3.2 % as of today. He said the decline in the positivity rate is a result of the active cooperation of the general public including business /transport  community with the District Administration as they have followed all the necessary Covid-19 related guidelines.

    The Deputy Commissioner informed that about 108497 RAT and RTPCR Covid tests have been done so far in the district, active positive cases are 1066 at present, recovery rate is 79.2 % and COVID-19 related deaths are 56 with Case Fatality Rate of 1.03%.

    “Though visible decline in Covid positive cases has been seen, we have to be extra cautious, by following Covid Appropriate Behaviour with added responsibility and commitment so that our district enters into green zone,” the DC said. 

    Regarding recent Unlock directions, the Deputy Commissioner said this is a minimal Unlock and ease in the restrictions does not mean to violate Covid-19 SOPs. He reiterated his appeal to public to follow strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols and ensure proper wearing of masks, maintaining social distance and hand hygeine to contain spread of virus and save lives. He also urged people to avoid unnecessary movements. 

    With regard to ongoing Covid-19 Vaccination procces, Mr. Sachin informed that Shopian is the first district in UT to vaccinate 100% targeted population of 45 years above. He said that administration has already identified high risk / vulnerable groups like Physically Challenged Persons, Widows, Labourers, drivers, street vendors etc and vaccination shall be done on priority once vaccine consignment is received.

    The Deputy Commissioner said vaccine is our only chance to get protected against COVID-19 and we can’t afford to abstain from getting vaccinated. He urged people of 45 years above age who have already received 1st dose to go for 2nd dose.

    “Similarly, on the directions of Lieutenant Governor, the district administration has setup Covid Care Centres in all 98 Panchayats of the district  equipped with Oxygen Concentrators, Oximeters and other necessarry medical equipments and Medical and Paramedical staff is deployed to these CCCs to manage and contain the Covid-19 effectively in rural areas ” said the DC

    In a statement to different media groups Hakim Shahid Hussain (General Secretary AKTO) said the tour and travel operators are suffering since 2014 and till date due to unavoidable circumstances occurred in J&K which gave a huge blow to economic development and survival to industry.

    In a statement the association requested the LG Adminstration , Director Toursim to provide a fruitful package to Tour and Travel Operators so that this sector which is Life Line of J&K will be saved.

    Kishtwar June 05 :–District administration has achieved the 77% of vaccination of the target group so far informed Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma in media brief held today here at conference Hall DC office Complex Mini secretariat Kishtwar.

    While addressing the media persons he informed that out of 65499 targeted group persons with 45 years or above age ,77 percent of the persons have been inoculated across the district, whereas rest of 10000 will be covered soon as the district administration has geared up to conduct vaccination drive in the far off places of district kishtwar with tough geographic conditions.

    He futher informed that Sub Divisonal level committees headed by SDMs are closely monitoring and assessing the progress on the vaccination drives and Covid care facilities in rural areas and are sharing the data with higher ups besides AWW and ASHA workers have been trained for the purpose who will assist the medical team in the vaccination drive.

    While briefing the media persons, DC kishtwar informed that in order to provide immediate isolation facility to the corona positive patients in the rural areas, Panchayat Mini COVID care centres with one oxygen supported bed and oxygen concentrator available in it, district administration have activated them in each panchayat in collaboration with the local PRIs, Health education department, Education Department,police department,rural Development Departement and Social welfare Department.

    Giving detail he informed that 1385 cases have been reported since March 2021, out of which 1125 have recovered and only 250 are active at present,out of which 23 are admitted in District Hospital,40 in District CCC and 15 have been referred to jammu.

    He briefed that the recovery rate has picked up and the positivity rate has dipped to 2.81%,whereas the mortality rate is recorded as .86%.

    As for as the total deaths witnessed in district is concerned,it is 13 out of them mostly are with co-morbidity or old aged persons, he informed.

    He revealed that as against the 20 micro-containment zone,3 micro containment zone have been partially de-notified and 3 have been fully de-notified.

    While giving detail about the COVID mitigation and containment measures, he informed that sufficient oxygen cylinders and concentrators are available in the District, besides 818 Covid Kits containing essential medicines and oximeter have been distributed among the COVID positive patients till date besides informed that the 1500 lpm oxygen generation plant will be commissioned soon in the DH Kishtwar and will cater the need of district at wider front.

    Despite the ease in lockdown measures, the week-end corona curfew is still enforced in view of the fact that virus has not been wiped off completely,he added.

    He complemented the role of health, police and administrative departments besides appreciated the role of PRI and common masses in the fight against the COVID 19 pandemic recently and solicited the same in future.

    Furthermore,he appealed the masses to strictly stick to the COVID19 appropriate behaviour and follow the SOPs in letter and spirit.

    Mendhar, June 05: Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Vice President J&K Youth Wing and Media Coordinator, Apni Party has urged Lt Governor for his intervention in implementation of Pahari Speaking Language in educational institutes of Jammu and Kashmir.

    In a statement to the press, Raqeeq said that the Education Dept has failed to provide books to the schools in Pahari Language to the schools and the officials at district level also not keen to start teaching Pahari speaking language in the educational institutions upto 8th class.

    In clear violation of rules, he said, the School Education Dept. has deprived the Pahari speaking people from their rights who have struggled for years to their language recognized by the Govt.

    “We fail to understand the reasons why the Directorate has not insured supply of books to the Govt educational institutions to teach Pahari Speaking language even as these books have been printed,” said Raqeeq Ahmed Khan.

    He said that “The mismanagement, poor coordination and lack of intention to teach language in schools have led to confusion. We are told that the Directorate has printed books on Pahari Speaking following directions from Govt. However, they have not provided these books to schools. The officials have engaged in a blame game on each other as the District Level Officials claim they do not get orders from the Directorate to place supply orders of books.”

    When the officials do not obey and themselves become smooth working of the Govt, it is imperative for the Lt Governor to intervene into the matter and hold officials responsible for their negligence.

    “The directions should come from higher authority to start teaching of Pahari Speaking Language in schools from the current academic session in schools falling in Districts having a population of Pahari Speaking People,” he said.

    Meanwhile, he appreciated the Baba Ghulamshah Badshah University – Rajouri administration for including Pahari Speaking as one of the reserved categories in the admission process for 2021-22 Sessions.

    “We hail the prompt response of the Vice Chancellor of BGSBU Rajouri for including the Speaking people as one of the reserved categories,” he said, adding it was possible with the intervention of Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari at the highest level.

    He said that the Apni Party believes in justice for all sections of society irrespective of their religion, region, caste or creed. “Our purpose is to serve the people without giving hollow slogans and misleading them with falsehood,” he added.

    Rajouri June 05:–Working on various aspects in this fight against COVID 19 pandemic that include implementation of restrictions, the Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district is also extending it’s best possible assistance to all concerned departments for the ongoing COVID vaccination drive.

    Not only the police teams have been deployed to assist vaccination teams of Health and other government departments in conducting camp wise or door to door vaccination drive but police is also making best possible efforts to facilitate people, especially aged citizens.

    At all the government notified vaccination centres across the district, police personnel have been deployed to assist people in getting vaccinated.

    At many vaccination centres across the district, cops have also been seen taking aged citizens to vaccination centers from nearby roads by carrying them on their shoulders.

    The people of Rajouri have hailed such efforts of cops.

    It is appealed to all members of the public who are eligible for COVID vaccination to get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible. Further, all are advised to not pay heed to rumours or fake news. Health should be everyone’s top priority at the moment.

    Rajouri June 05:–Despite every possible effort by the district administration & health department people are not coming forward for vaccination, especially in rural areas in Rajouri district.
    As far as vaccination of above 45 plus people is concerned is very low at tehsils level despite the required availability of the vaccine.
    If reports are to be believed the matter is in the notice of higher authorities and they have also expressed their resentment.
    To achieve the target of 100% vaccination, all the Block Medical Officers and vaccination teams have been asked to move to the villages to cover the above 45 plus people.

    According to reports in most of the Panchyats people still are adamant not to get vaccinated and at many places, teams have been asked to leave the villages.
    Health worker teams facing many difficulties because occasionally they track through the difficult mountains for hours and crossing the rivers by putting their lives at risk to reach the people in remote areas.
    With such dedication, teamwork, and untiring efforts our teams continuing their efforts to defeat the pandemic. But it is the equal responsibility of the people to cooperate with our teams who are visiting them at their doorsteps” said Dr.Iqbal Malik,BMO, Kandi health block.
    Meanwhile, for the effective implementation of the measures taken for the Covid-19 Containment and management in the district, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, District Magistrate has appointed ‘In-Charge Panchayat’ for all the 312 Panchayats of the district.
    As per DM’s order, the will be responsible for monitoring & management of the vaccination, registration of eligible beneficiaries for vaccination through health teams, contact tracing, sampling & testing in containment zones, opertionalisation of Covid isolation centers & their functioning, awareness about ‘Covid Appropriate Behavior & other activities.
    All the in-charge of the institutions have been directed to conduct Covid vaccination ward wise/door to door under their areas of jurisdiction to achieve the 100% Vaccination target for 45 years and above.
    73 persons were tested positive today in Rajouri district, 111 were tested negative & recovered while one person died and 923 are still positive cases.
