    Rajouri May 04:– Jammu Kashmir Apni Party leader Rizwan Khan Buraq demand discontinuation of Aadhar enabled POS Transactions for Ration obtaining beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAN). Under this scheme govt provide 5kg free food grains to about 80 crore beneficiaries for the months of May and June, 2021. But poor beneficiaries can avail this scheme only after applying fingerprints on biometric, which can be the source of making covid Chain and spread covid 19 after multiple touches.

    Khan stated that Aadhar enabled POS Transactions applying fingerprints on same biometric Gadget by dozens of people in a day. The risk of spreading Corona virus in community is high. Even the families of poor beneficiaries also get infected through this channel.

    Rizwan Khan Buraq requested Lt. Governor of jammu and Kashmir and Commissioner department of food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs for immediate action and urge Discontinuation of Aadhar enabled POS Transactions in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

    Rajouri May 04:–Rajouri district has been hit with a wave of a new variant of coronavirus and the situation is alarming.
    Rajesh Shavan, District Magistrate today declared 11 more locations in the district as the Micro Containment Zone (MCZ); including 4 in Manjakot health block (Rajouri town), 3 in Sunderbani, 2 in Kalakot & one each in Nowshera and Darhal health blocks respectively, and the number or of MCZ had reached 39.
    Measures like frequent hand washing, wearing a mask, physical distancing, good ventilation, and avoiding crowded places or closed settings and continue to work against new variants by reducing the amount of viral transmission is helpful to reduce transmission.
    During the last four days, 574 persons have been tested positive and the number of active cases reached 1414 with 205 positive cases detected on Tuesday.
    The death toll due to Covid-19 has risen to 76 on Tuesday with 3 more deaths in GMC Rajouri on Monday.

    Pertinent to mention here that on December 31, 2020, the number of the active case was177 while out of 3835 positive cases 3604 had recovered and were tested negative and 55 had died.
    On March 3 there was no active case in the district. Out of 3876 active cases, 3826 were tested negative and were recovered while 55 had died.
    Within 60 days the number of positive cases raised to 1414 and during this period 21 persons have lost their lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
    The main reason behind this surge in active cases was the violation of Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs by the people with impunity.

    According to the latest study, also appeared in a section of print media, that a person infected with the new strain of a virus is likely to infect over three people they come in contact with.
    Large gatherings both by the administration and civilians, use of no masks, frequent traveling in crowded vehicles, attending the Kumbh Mela by a large number of people without following SOPs, etc are among the few reasons due to which the Covid pandemic has hit the district.
    As far as vaccination is concerned 1,01212 persons, including Health Care Workers (HCWs) & Front Line Workers (FLWs) and above 45 years of age have been administrated the Covid vaccine across the district (including 1st & 2nd doses).

Including Mata Vaishno Devi Sign Board, progress made in Jammu and Kashmir, under Jagmohan, his work can never be forgotten in Jammu and Kashmir, the country has suffered a great loss due to his departure, it can never be completed.

    Srinagar/Jammu, May 04: –(GNS) Government has on Tuesday constituted a four-member panel mandating it to carry an in-depth examination of alleged illegal activities and operations of stone crusher units in and around river Tawi in contravention to the directions of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

    The Committee as per an order, of which a copy lies in possession of Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS), would be presided over by O.P Bhagat, Director Geology and Mining, J&K as Chairman alongside R.C Kotwal, Director Finance I&C with additional charge of Mining Department; Romesh Gandotra, Assistant Mining Engineer as members and Dr. Raj Kumar, In-charge Deputy Director, Geology and Mining as Member Secretary.

    The Committee as mandated by the order would be examining the issue of operation of crusher units in Tawi River since 2018 and to look into measures taken to curb illegal mining in Tawi river in compliance of Hon’ble High Court’s Order.

    The Committee would suggest
    measures to curb all malpractices with respect of mining and processing of river bed material from Tawi River and also to suggest measures for allowing regulated mining and disposal of river bed material to prevent flash flood incidents, the order states.

    The committee, as stated, is to examine the allegations made and the representations received about the high handedness of the department.

    The four-member committee shall be serviced by Directorate of Geology and Mining Department, J&K and will submit its report within a week’s time, it further states. (GNS)

    BUNJWAH May 04: –The RDD Block Bunjwah always remains in the headlines due to the pathetic attitude of officers posted at Block Office Bunjwah for the last six months.

    As per details available with the correspondent, today on the direction of District Magistrate Kishtwar, a surprise inspection was conducted by Tehsildar Bunjwah along with other sectoral staff in the office of Block Development Officer Bunjwah located near Higher Secondary School Binoon in rented accommodation.

    During the inspection, out of 05 employees 04 employees were found absent from their legitimate duties including Block development Officer Mohd Anis Malik, Mohd Amin Orderly, Mudassar Nabi CIS, and Wasim Raja CIS. The employee Mohd Asif Orderly was found present and is a resident of native village Nali beside no other officer bothered to visit Bunjwah.

    Meanwhile, a whistleblower hails the quick action of worth District magistrate Kishtwar and hopes that stern action according to the law will be taken against all employees who were found absent from their legitimate duties.

    It is pertinent to mention that sign boards are rusting in open and are not installed at the work execution sight from 2016-17 despite lakhs of rupees is estimated cost of sign boards.

    COVID Vaccination Registration Camps have been kick-started in Kalaroos Block from 04 May 2021 to 19 May 2021 by Humdard-E-Kupwara Batallion in conjunction with PHC and CSC Kalaroos.

    The drive is aimed at providing a platform in each village wherein all eligible residents above 45 years can come and register themselves and book the appointment for vaccination. It was learnt during the regular interaction with the AWAM that there are apprehensions in the locals about COVID Vaccination which had resulted in very low turnout for vaccination in Kalaroos Block.
    In order to clear all apprehensions and ensure COVID vaccination for maximum people, Humdard-E-Kupwara Battalion in conjunction with PHC Kalaroos and CSC decided to organise a Vaccination Registration Drive in each village so as to enable maximum people getting the registration done for vaccination.

    Today it was organised in Kalaroos A Panchayat Block where camp was held in HSS School, Kalaroos . Dr Wali Mohd from PHC Kalaroos was also present and made people aware about benefits of vaccination and clarified their doubts. During the camp strict adherence to COVID protocols was ensured.

    This joint effort certainly yielded the desired results as on its first day, total of 95 people booked their appointments. The drive will continue till 19 May 2021 and will cover all the villages in Kalaroos Block.

    The noble efforts of Humdard-E-Kupwara Batallion and PHC Kalaroos were widely appreciated by AWAM and local administration including the medical authorities .

    Rajouri, May, 04:– District Magistrate Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today convened the meeting of the concerned officers to ensure more transparency and an effective criminal justice delivery system in the district.

    Among the others, Additional Deputy Rajouri, Sher Singh; Chief Prosecuting Officer, Shaheen Ahmed Khan; Sr.PO, Shahid Mustafa; Sr.PO, Rukhsar Ahmed Khan; Sr.PO Mohd Sayeed; CPO DDP, Mohd Rafeeq; CPO PP, Vijay Sudan; APP, Mansoor Ahmed Khan; APP, Tanver Anjum; APP, Altaf Hussain; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Dy.CMO, Dr Anees Altaf Nabi; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; Anuradha Sharma, Incharge Chairperson CWC Administrator OSC, Nitu Sharma; Legal cum probationary officer JJB, Shivangi Kant besides Child protection officers, Shawani Gupta , Member CWC; CDPOs, members of the CWC and JJB attended the meeting.

    At the outset, the Chief Prosecuting Officer apprised the meeting about several issues like lack of DDP office building, residential quarters for the Public Prosecutors and other related issues for the smooth functioning of the court complex Rajouri. He further gave the outline of the duties and responsibilities entrusted to the wing.

    During the meeting, the District Magistrate sought a detailed report from the concerned officers about the case-wise details of different departments including OSC, CWC, JJB who in turn briefed about the number of cases settled and the kind of services provided to the victims.

    Regarding the awareness campaigns about the child protection act, the PO ICDS informed the meeting that massive awareness programmes are being organised by the CDPOs in the areas of their respective jurisdictions to disseminate necessary awareness among the common masses about the Act. He said that since the last meeting, substantial progress has been made.

    While addressing the participants, the District Magistrate said, a Public Prosecutor represents the State in whose name the prosecution is conducted and the wing has to ensure that offenders are convicted and meanwhile to make sure that no innocent is trapped in Legal wrangles.

    He said the purpose of a criminal trial is to investigate the offence and to determine the guilt or the innocence of the accused and a Public Prosecutor must aid the court in discovering the truth of the case. He said that the DM has been entrusted to ensure that the sovereign functions of the state are performed at the district level in a right manner.

    The District Magistrate said that interdepartmental coordination and an integrated approach is a must for the proper legislation and delivery of the justice. He impressed upon the officers to put in arduous efforts for increasing the conviction rates of the cases.

    The District Magistrate also assured full support to the prosecutors both on logistics and working fronts and assured that he will try his best to facilitate them in the discharge of their legitimate duties.

    CDPOs were directed to submit the details of the child beggars and child labourers working in hazardous places in the district besides also directed the concerned officers to ensure that no Government employees hire the domestic Servants below the Age of 14 yrs.

    District Magistrate also directed CDPOs to conduct a survey in the areas of their respective jurisdictions for the children below the age of 14 years working in the homes of the Government officials and submit the necessary report in this regard within ten days.

    Concerning the scholarship schemes, the concerned officer from the Social Welfare Department was asked to ensure that benefits under different scholarship schemes are provided to all the eligible students in the district. He further directed the CMO to depute the doctors to attend to the women in distress and children in the care of the need.

    CDPOs were directed to organise special awareness camps to aware the girls regarding the negative effects of girl child marriage in society. He directed the CMO to take concrete measures to help the girls manage their menstrual hygiene amid COVID19, and ensure that the PRIs are associated with the task.

    While taking the review of conviction rate, the DM impressed for the quality and fair investigation so that the rate of conviction is also increased. However, he cautioned that no innocent should be unnecessarily trapped in legal wrangles.

    The District Magistrate also directed the immediate shifting of the offices of the child welfare committee JJB to the new premises and ordered for making the child care home fully functional. He gave a deadline of ten days for carrying out some basic surveys.

    While concluding the meeting, the District Magistrate said that he will be issuing statutory formats and Information about crime/ criminals and prosecution shall be received in his office for proper follow up.

    He also made it clear that regular monthly meetings will be organised on the subject.

    The officers present in the meeting lauded for his proactive approach and assurance for the requisite help.
