    -In order to provide better health services to poor people in remote areas in the Kandi Health Block in Rajouri district, BMO has issued circular to release salary of the staff of 9 health sub-centres only after the attendance was duly attested/verified by the concerned Sarpanch/Panch.
    Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Kandi Health Block,Dr Iqbal Malik in a circular has said that the staff of 9 health centres will get their monthly salary only after the receipt of their monthly attendance duly attested/ verified by the concerned Sarpanch/Panch.
    After several complaints by the people that many health sub-centres in remote areas under Kandi Health Block remain closed, BMO on the directions of Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC has issued the circular.
    “In order to improve the punctuality of staff to provide better health services to the public of remote areas, the salary of the staff of eight sub- centres falling in remote areas of the block shall be drawn only after receipt of their attendance duly attested /verified by the Sarpanch/Panch concerned” read the circular issued by Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO,Kandi Health Block.
    Besides this, Dr Iqbal Malik has also directed the field staff associated with Malaria, Leprosy etc also to submit their monthly attendance duly attested/verified by the concerned in-charge of the health institution and Sarpanch/Panch of their area thus enabling his office to draw their salary well in time.
    Pertinent to mention here that during a Public Darbar held at Panchaat Ghar at Kharsoo in village Kha in Kotranka sub-district, the people informed DDC that the health sub centre in village Kanthole mostly remains closed & the employees don’t bother to provide health care service to poor people.
    Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DDC on spot had directed Dr Malik, BMO to visit the health centre and also issued an instruction to release the monthly salary of the staff of Kanthole health centre only after receipt of their monthly attendance duly verified /attested by the concerned Sarpanch/Panch.
    “Taking cognizance of the DDC’s instructions & treating it as an eye opener, it was also decided that in order to improve punctuality of the staff & to provide better health services to the people in remote areas, the salary of the staff of other 8 health centres shall also be drawn only after the receipt of their attendance duly attested /verified by the Sarpanch/Panch concerned,” said Dr Malik.
    Eight health sub-centres are situated in villages namely Kha, Upper Kandi, Dhewan, Badal, Targain, Hubbi Kallar ,Kandra & Sankari.

    Rajouri, March, 29: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Sunday conducted an extensive tour of the Kalakote area of Rajouri district to review the action taken on the issues raised during the recently held public outreach camp there.

    During his visit, the DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned officers about the action taken on the issues projected by the locals during the public durbar who in turn briefed about the same.

    DDC also paid a visit to some sites of tourist potential in the Kalakote area.

    At Kesar Galla, the DDC directed the DFO Rajouri and AD Tourism to formulate a comprehensive eco-tourism plan for the development of tourist spots in the region besides he also asked the concerned officer from Tourism to make all the tourism assets functional at Kessar Galla.

    During his visit to Coal mines at Moughla, the DDC held interaction with the workers there and listened to their grievances patiently. The workers raised several issues about them including low wage rate etc.DDC assured that he would depute the Assistant Labour Commissioner within days to resolve their genuine concerns at the earliest. He also held a threadbare discussion with the local population about the measures to be taken to enhance coal production in the area to generate more employment avenues for the locals.

    Later in the evening session, the DDC also paid a visit to the hot spring at Tattapani where the locals demanded the construction of a sanitary complex.DDC asked the concerned officer from the Tourism Department to take all possible measures for the proper development of the Tatapani tourist spot.

    DDC while speaking on the occasions said that Rajouri district has a huge potential in the tourism sector and the need of an hour is to harness the tourism potential of the district to raise the economy of the district.

    DDC also said that concerted efforts are being made to boost the tourism sector in the district and a slew of measures are underway to explore all the possibilities for tapping its potential to the full.

    DDC was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal; Divisional Forest Officer Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; Tehsildar Kalakote, Assistant Director Tourism, Ambika Bali and Block Development Officer Kalakote, Mohd Khalil.

    Rajouri March 29:–Jammu and Kashmir police busted another racket involved in manufacturing of illicit liquor and arrested two person involved in the crime with a working still was smashed in Nonial village of Nowshera.

    This is the second racket busted by police team of Nowshera as another racket was busted on Sunday morning in Bareri village area of Nowshera.

    Police said that a team headed by SHO Nowshera Pankaj Sharma in association with SI Razaq Ahmed was on patrolling duty in general area of Nonial in Nowshera when few men were seem moving suspiciously in forest area of village.

    Police added that an operation was launched over it during which two person were seen present in the area who have been identified as Mohinder Singh son of Harbans Singh and Kamaljeet Singh son of Sawan Singh, resident of Nonial Nowshera.

    Both the accused were found manufacturing illicit liquor in the area with 40 litres of Lahaan was found on spot which was destroyed whereas 10 litres of illicit liquor along with utensils and other material used in manufacturing of illicit liquor was seized from the spot.

    Police added that a case FIR 46/2021 U/Ss 48-a, b, e, f Excise act has been registered and investigation has been started.
