After the Threadbare discussion on the largest silent killer the organization members appreciate the priority of police and SSP madam against drugs and assured full support against this social evil.     Kishtwar March 27 :–SSP Kishtwar Shri Shafqat Hussain Bhat-JKPS held an introductory meeting with DDC, BDC, Sarpanches and Panches of District Kishtwar at District Police Hqrs. Kishtwar.

    The meeting was also attended by Addl. SP Kishtwar SH. Mushim Ahmad, Dy.SP Hqrs. Sh. Devinder Singh Bandral , SDPO ATholi sh. Dy.SP Pardeep Singh Sen, SDPO Marwah Sh. Arvinder Singh Kotwal.

    At the outset of meeting the invitees raised /discussed various issues to which SSP Kishtwar gave patent hearing and assured that their issues related to Police Department will be sought on priority and issues beyond the Police Department will be taken up with the Administration for early redressal.

    SSP Kishtwar urged all the invitees to extent their support for maintaining communal harmony and also assist District Police Kishtwar to curb social evils from the society.

    Directorate of Tourism in collaboration with District Administration Rajouri organises Jashn-E-Rajouri festival

    Rajouri, March, 27: To promote local culture and boost tourist footfall in the district, the District Administration Rajouri in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism today organised a mega cultural cum tourism promotion fest, ‘Jashn E Rajouri’ here at PWD Dak Bunglow Lawns.

    The event was organised under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan who was also the chief guest on the occasion.

    The confluence of local art, craft, culture, folk dances with other tourism products depicting the culture and traditions of Jammu and Kashmir UT in general and Rajouri, in particular, were the main attractions of the event.

    Artists from different parts of J&K UT as well as from parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh presented their performances to enthral the audiences at the event and local artists performed in Gojri, Pahadi and Dogri. Special screening of small videos showcasing the beauty and tourism potential of the Peer Panjal area was conducted during the meeting.

    The resource persons from different departments including horticulture, tourism, handicrafts, handlooms and others had installed their stalls to generate awareness among the participants about several schemes and programmes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.

    The grand event is an attempt by the department of tourism to revive the tourism activities post COVID19 and also to promote different tourism products vis-a-vis the Peer Panjal region especially the local culture, art forms, heritage tourism, rural tourism and adventure tourism among others.

    Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion said that Rajouri district has a huge potential in the tourism sector as it has bestowed scenic beauty besides the district is an epitome of cultural harmony and many people of this Peer Panjal region have shown their calibre at National and International level.

    Deputy Commissioner said that tourism can play a positive role in the social, cultural, economic and environmental development of a region and at the same time, tourism provides an important means of enhancing the culture of a region.

    Deputy Commissioner also said that the aim for organizing such events is to harness the tourism potential of the district to raise the economy of the district. He said that concerted efforts are being made to boost the tourism sector in the district and a slew of measures are underway to explore all the possibilities for tapping its potential to the full.

    Rajouri Police arrest fraudster involved in swapping ATM cards, several cards recovered

    Rajouri March 27:–Police Station Rajouri had received a complaint by one Kulsum Akhtar, r/o Gakhrote stating that her ATM card was fraudulently replaced/ swapped by a person. Based on this, FIR No 143/2021 U/S 420 IPC was registered at PS Rajouri.

    As investigation was set in motion, the accused person was identified as one Faizan Ali, s/o Shoket Ali, r/o Chandak, Poonch, at present Ward no. 02 Rajouri and has been arrested. Based on his disclosure, seven (07) ATM cards and cash were recovered from his possession.

    Investigation has revealed that the accused used to identify unsuspecting ATM users and would replace their cards while pretending to assist them.
