    Rajouri March 24:
    -The authorities here at Rajouri have decided to implement strictly the Covid-19 guidelines, SOPs.After 10 positive cases (one recovered today) reported in the district, Deputy Commissioner today held detailed discussion with the senior officers of the concerned departments and directed the health department to keep surveillance on the travelers and their contacts.
    The disquiet on this account has greatly increased since the new strains could be highly transmissible and dangerous, and could re-infect even people with anti-bodies and those who are already inoculated.


    Under this new situation, the district administration needs to devise better strategies to tackle the situation before it goes out of control like in the first phase of Covid-19.
    “It has been decided to educate the people about the fresh threat of Coronavirus through announcements and holding awareness meetings in the schools, colleges at public places, etc till March 28” said Th. Sher Singh, Additional DC.
    After that warning will be issued, including fines, if the people continue to violate guidelines/SOPs including not wearing the masks.


    “Administration has been requested to re-activate covid-19 sampling points at other places also besides at GMC & Associated Hospital (district hospital” said CMO.
    For about a month till March 3, there was no active positive case in the district.
    After that, the travelers were tested positive at Jammu/other places and were home quarantined in the district.
    Under a vaccination drive, 4891 health care workers have been given the first dose & 2456 second dose have also been administered the second dose with an achievement 94 percent. Similarly, the progress regarding the vaccination of the frontline workers and persons above sixty years is 85 percent and 16.08 percent respectively besides as many as 95 persons in the district under the age group of 45-59 with Comorbidity have also been vaccinated.

    “As many as 89780 doses were received in the district out of which 49140 were handed over to the Army, 200 sent to Poonch district and remaining 40440 doses are available with the Health Department,” said a senior Health Officer.

    Rajouri March 24:–Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri had initiated an inquiry being conducted by a committee of two Principals after an audio clip of a conversation between him and a girl student goes viral on social media.
    The incident had created resentment among a large number of people in the area.


    In the inquiry report submitted by the committee it was authenticated that the voice in the audio clip is of the Master (name withheld) posted in higher secondary school (HSS) at Kotranka .
    In the viral audio clip, besides long conversation between both, the Master was forcing the girl repeatedly to come to his room (at Kotranka) to collect a gift while the girl denied doing so and agreed to collect the gift in the school.
    As the audio clip goes viral on the social media network and as per the contents of the allegation, Ch Gulzar Hussain, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) has attached the teacher at another school and also initiated an inquiry.


    Keeping in view the contents of the allegations as well as viral audio clip on social media, pending inquiry the Master of government higher secondary school, Kotranka is hereby attached in HSS at Chingus with immediate effect,” CEO order dated March 22 read.


    The principal of HSS, Kotranka has also authenticated the voice of the master in the viral audio clip and has demanded severe punishment for this act.
    The inquiry committee members in their report have also recommended strict action in this matter.

    However, the inquiry committee members also recommended giving a mercy chance to the Master.


    Chief Education Officer, Ch. Gulzar Hussain on Tuesday issued a show- cause notice to the Master to explain his position before any action.
    “Before an action could be initiated, a chance is hereby given to explain our position. Your detailed reply must reach (in my office) through Principal HSS, Chingus (where attached till pending inquiry) on or before March, 25,” read the show cause notice.


    “Failing which it shall be presumed that you have nothing to say in our defense & disciplinary proceedings under Rule, as warranted, shall be initiated against you” the notice further read.

    Kishtwar March 24:–SSP Kishtwar Shri Shafqat Hussain Bhat-JKPS chaired meeting with transporters and trade unions of District Kishtwar.In the meeting Dy SP Hqrs Shri. Davinder Singh Bandral, Dy SP DAR Shri Dhreej Singh Kotach, SDPO Marwah Shri Arvinder Singh and SHO PS Kishtwar Insp Abid Hussain were also present.
    During the meeting the cooperation of participants in maintaining communal harmony was sought, while assuring the same, the participants raised various issues like verification of outsiders, addressing the issue of Drug abuse, eve teasing, rash driving, road romeos, traffic jamming, wrong parking, check on distillation of illicit liquor among other issues. SSP Kishtwar assured the participants for prompt redressal of the issues raised by the participants during the meeting.


    SSP Kishtwar said that the overloading in minibuses and sumos shall be dealt seriously. The transporters should pass the message to the drivers to refrain from over loading of passengers in the district otherwise action under law will be taken against the defaulters.

    The transporters and traders ensured their cooperation for streamlining the traffic rationally in the District.

    Rajouri, March, 24:– To raise public awareness about the pernicious health, social and economic consequences of TB and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic, the District Administration Rajouri under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday celebrated World TB Day.

    The Theme for World TB Day 2021 is ‘The Clock is Ticking’ which conveys the sense that the world is running out of time to act on the commitments to end the deadly disease made by global leaders.

    On the occasion, a grand programme was organised here at CMO Complex in which the students, Asha workers, health officers and the staff members of the Health Department participated.

    Several speakers highlighted the importance of the day and talked about the measures being taken to eliminate this global pandemic.

    A detailed light was thrown on the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme which is a Public Health initiative of the Government of India and it functions as a flagship component of the National Health Mission and provides technical and managerial leadership to anti-tuberculosis activities in the country.

    The participants were apprised about the achievements made under the NTEP across the district besides various kinds of free services including diagnosis, investigation and treatment being provided by the Government to the masses under the said programme were also highlighted on the occasion.

    The Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion said that an effective communication strategy is required which would focus on reaching the maximum population, complemented with preventive, diagnostic and curative aspects of TB management.

    Deputy Commissioner added that the students and the field functionaries of the Health Department can play a significant role in generating massive awareness about this and he urged upon them to aware the masses about how to prevent this disease and stay healthy.

    The Deputy Commissioner stated that there is also a need to address the issue that TB is considered a social stigma in a huge way.

    “TB is a priority disease which has been targeted for elimination from India by 2025 and community-led participation is an essential component to achieve the target within the stipulated time frame,” the DC said.

    Among the others, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; District Tuberculosis officer, Dr Anwar Hussain; District Health Officer, Dr Khalid; District Immunization Officer, Dr Parveen Yograj; District ASHA Coordinator, Dr Farooq Mir besides the paramedical students, Asha workers and staff of the Health Department were also present on the occasion.

    Poonch March 24 :–DeputyCommissioner Poonch Mr. Inder Jeet (KAS) today convened an introductory cum interactive session with the media persons in which prominent media persons from across the district participated. The session was conducted with the media fraternity to seek feedback and suggestions on various development related issues.

    At the outset, additional deputy commissioner Dr.Bashrat Hussain gave a brief appraisal about the functioning of media outlets in the district including print and electronic media.
    Speaking on the occasion DC observed that media has a very positive and constructive role in delivering good governance by projecting and highlighting various public issues appropriately. He said that journalism is a very sensitive and noble profession provided the person associated in this field uphold its sanctity and maintain its objectivity.
    He added that after all We are working for the common cause and interest of the society that is making development in a peaceful environment.
    DC said that social media become reality today and it is being used quite extensively for various noble causes .It creates awerness and help the people to discover various initiatives that help them to enhance their own lives.

    During the meeting representatives of the press forum briefed the DC about the problems they are facing while discharging their professional duties at ground level. They also put forth their demands which includes establishment of press club at district headquarter and certain financial benefits permissible allowances if any. Moreover, they also demanded the upgradation of basic infrastructure in Information department for their convenience.
    DC gave a patient hearing of all their demands and assured that their genuine demands shall be redressed on priority. He directed the Department of information and public relations to mantain a close liason with the journalists besides to act as a bridge between the administration and the people at large.
    He appeals media persons to play their constructive role in containment of second wave of COVID 19 pendemic by disseminating maximum information to public for strict adherence of SOPs.

    At last DC Complimented the media persons for expressing their positive gesture, He added that maintaining the freedom of press is essentially important and urged upon them to strive for improving the standard of journalism by reporting objectively.

    Rajouri March 24:– In order to take first hand appraisal of public issues and to strengthen police public relations, Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Ms. Sheema Nabi Qasba chaired an interaction meeting with civil society members of Rajouri.

    The meeting was held at Dak Bungalow, Rajouri in which members of civil society belonging to different walks of life participated. The meeting was also attended by Addl SP Rajouri, Liaqat Ali, DySP Hq, Vinod Sharma and DySP DAR, Zaheer Abbas.

    The civil society members put forth a number of social and law enforcement issues concerning the public. They were assured that their concerns would be dealt with on priority, such as, traffic decongestion, illicit trade in narcotics, unlawful activities and law and order. They were further assured that any anti-social element taking law in their hands will be dealt with strictly and as per law.

    The meeting concluded on a positive and hopeful note, with all participants affirming their commitment to work towards betterment and development of Rajouri.

    SHOPIAN MARCH 24:–As a part of decongestion and beautification plan of the town, Shopian is all set to get 20 e-Rickshaw in phase first. Modalities in this regard have been finalised by the Development Commissioner of Shopian Sachin Kumar Vaishya in meeting of ADC Shiekh Abdul Aziz, ARTO Muazzam Ali, DSWO Mohammad Shafait and identified local youth who will be facilitated to procure Electric-Rickshaws

    For decongestion of the town sumo stands operating at Zero point, Gol Chakri, Sangloo and near HR bank are being shifted outside main town. Once these stands are shifted, there will be blanket ban on entry of sumos in the town. For public conveyance within town 20 local youth will be provided ‘Letter of Authority’ for running e-Rickshaws in first phase.

    The identified local youth will be linked with livelihood programmes of the government for procurement of e-Rickshaws on subsidised rates. Apart from helping in decongestion of the town, the step will lead to creation of self-employment opportunities for unemployed youth.

    ₹228.40 Lakh released to 571 poor girls under SMAS for solemnising their marriages(40K each). 100 new cases for monthly pension of ₹1K sanctioned. PreMatric Scholarships of 25 lakh, 1.11 Lakh & 20K released to 2951 OBC/RBA/SCA, 173 handicap & 34 destitute students respectively.
