    Getting vaccinated against Covid-19 is important, says CMO Rajouri

    Rajouri March 10:–3585 out of targeted 57817 senior citizens above 60 years (3550 vaccinated) and persons between 45-59 years with co-morbidities (35 vaccinated) have been vaccinated since March1, when Rajouri health department opens up vaccination for them.


    Forty two centers, including at primary health centers (PHCs), community health Centers (CHCs), sub district hospitals (SDHs), urban health centre (UHC), MCH & GMC&AH, across the district have been identified for the vaccination.These centers are located in Sunderbani, Nowshera, Kalakot, Kotranka, Manjakot & Darhal health blocks respectively.


    Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Shamim-un-Nisa said that senior citizens above 60 years and the persons with co-morbidities, between 45-59 years can get the covid-19 vaccination at these centers under second phase between 10 am to 3 pm (at PHC level) and up to 3.30 pm at block level.


    No vaccination will be done on every Sunday, Wednesday and gazetted holidays.
    Aadhar Card is mandatory for the vaccination but those having no Aadhar card can bring PAN card for identification.According to official sources 16977 persons have been vaccinated in the district till today. Out of targeted 4880 health care workers 4574 (94%) have taken first dose while out of targeted 9049 front line workers 6964 (77%) have received first dose.Official sources said that 1854 health care/front line workers have also received the second shot till today.


    Reliable sources said that people in majority community dominated areas coming in less number for the vaccination while people in minority community areas going for vaccination in large number.


    Campaign against vaccination at religious level, political parties level (those opposing BJP), on social media networks etc, are among many reasons forcing the majority community members not to go for the vaccination.
    At many places it has been observed that only those who have applied for the Hajj pilgrimage coming for vaccination because Saudi Arab has made the vaccination mandatory for Hajj pilgrimage.
    Efforts are being made to aware the people to receive the covid-19 vaccine for protecting themselves against this deadly disease. Even today Deputy Commissioner and SSP in a public meeting have appealed to the people to come forward for vaccination,” said CMO.

    Doda, March 10:- District Institute of Education and Trainings, Doda organized one day workshop of HoIs of District Doda on Leadership quality/School Management/Impact of Covid-19 and its precautionary measures as well as Enrolment drive on 09th March 2021 under Non-Plan. The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. Sikandar Lal, Principal DIET Doda.

    The purpose of the workshop was to sensitize the HoIs of District Doda regarding Leadership quality/School Management/Impact of Covid-19 and its precautionary measures as well as Enrolment drive to bring academic excellence. The Principal briefed all the participants about the various issues regarding the proper and smooth functioning of the institutions, role and responsibilities of HoIs.

    In the workshop about 130 no. of HoIs including DIET faculty members have participated. Mr. Tanveer Ahmed Wani, Principal HSS, Mr. Satya Kumar Katoch, Principal HSS Malothi and Mr. Sudesh Kumar Raina, HOD DIET Doda worked as Resource Persons. All the HoIs have assured for full coordination for implementing all the interventions with zeal and zest in the schools for bright future of the students viz-a-viz society.

    The vote of thanks was presented by I/C IFIC Wing, Sh. Parshotam Dass Gouria (HOD DIET Doda) and Sh. Kismat Singh, Lecture DIET Doda who have made extensive support for making the program successful.

    The DIET faculty members were congratulated by Principal DIET Doda for their team spirit, cordial coordination in the programme.

    Rajouri, March, 10:-‘ District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday paid a visit to Kandi area
    of Koteranka block where the building for the Government Degree college Koteranka is to be constructed.

    DDC was accompanied by the BDC Chairperson Budhal Old-B, Javed Iqbal Chowdhury and Tehsildar Koteranka, Hakim Shah.

    It is pertinent to mention here that the DDC few days ago had paid a visit to one site at Kandi village where the building for the GDC Koteranka was to be constructed earlier. The site was rejected by the Geology and Mining Department as the strata of the land was loose,therefore not fit for the construction purpose.

    DDC had instructed the concerned revenue officer to identify another suitable site and the concerned officer from Geology and Mining Department was asked to submit the feasibility report in this regard.Following the directions of the DDC, another site was identified in the same village which was certified suitable for the construction purpose.

    DDC today visited the spot where he was informed that the work on the project is to be executed by the JKPCC Department at an estimated cost of Rs 13.00 crores on fourty one kanals of land.

    The concerned officer from JKPCC has been asked to start the work on the project within one week so that necessary benefit can be provided to the students with the establishment of the college building in the area.

    Meanwhile the DDC also paid a visit to the Government Middle School Hubi and interacted with the students and the school staff.

    Shopian March 10 :–Late evening visit of DDC Shopian Sachin Kumar Vaishya at Ziarat Sharif Pinjoora to review arrangements for Shab e Miraj. Concerned officers were directed to ensure availability of all requisite facilities like sanitation, electricity, drinking water, health facilities etc.

    Rajouri, March, 10:-– District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday convened a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress on houses being constructed in urban areas of the district under PMAY-U.

    The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Project Officer DUDA, Kavita; Executive Officers MCs.

    Chairman Municipal Council Rajouri, Mohd Arif, president municipal committee Nowshera, Narinder Kumar, president MCbThanamandi, Shakeel, Mir and president MC Kalakote, Vijay suri were also present in the meeting.

    The meeting was informed that against the target of constructing 1520 houses, the work on 50 is complete.DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned officers about the status of geo-tagging, number of houses attached with MIS, payment made till date who in turn briefed about the same.

    While taking review of the cases being sanctioned under housing for all, the Project officer DUDA informed that as many as 25 cases have been sponsored and 02 cases have been disbursed.DDC asked the concerned officer to motivate the public to avail the benefits under the housing for all scheme so that the number of beneficiaries can be increased in the district.

    DDC asked the concerned chairman/Presidents of the MCs to keep a close eye on the work of the PMAY houses being executed in the areas of their respective jurisdictions and ensure that quality material is used for the construction purpose and also the target is achieved within the shortest possible time.

    Chief Planning Officer has been asked to get the list of the approved beneficiaries published in the leading newspapers and also upload the same on the portal of the District Administration to ensure transparency.

    The concerned officers have been directed to ensure the timely payment of the works so that the people doesn’t suffer.The Project Engineer ( SLTCs) has been directed to speed up the process of geo-tagging of the assets at each stage and also ensure that a the houses are attached with MIS.

    DDC asked the Executive Officers to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in the towns and aware the masses about the importance of sanitation in the life.

    DDC also directed the Executive Officers to submit the list of the roads within the municipal limits where the potholes are to be filled up so that the same can be forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary action at their end.
