Jammu, February 03:–Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference(JKBADC), a registered body working for the welfare of residents of Border areas have appealed the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and help in restoration of proper mobile connectivity in border villages of district Poonch.

Dr Shazad Malik, Chairman of JKBADC, native of border town Mendhar and former Vice Chancellor of Sai Nath Univeristy in a letter addressed to Lieutenant Governor cited five border villages including Village Chhajla Ramkund, Hardaki, Ghani, Mankote & Balnoi falling under Block and Tehsil Mankote of district Poonch wherein the people have to move 5 to ten kilometers just to make phone calls due to no Mobile Connectivity there not even of government owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL).

“It is so sad that even in this era of Information Technology, the people of these areas remained cut of from rest of the world, moreover due to to no mobile connectivity, even the online studies of the children of these villages’ suffering”, the JKBADC’s letter further reads.

Giving further details JKBADC Chairman Dr Shazad informed that these border villagers remain totally out of contact from outer world and elderly citizens too suffer as they are also not able to communicate with their kiths and kins. He also said that Labour, employees and Students from these areas who are residing out of these villages are also unable to connect back home to know about the well being of their families.

Rajouri February 03:– A man from Dhani Dhar area of Rajouri town have been arrested alongwith consignement of Heroine.

Police said that police party of police station Rajouri under supervision of Sameer Jellani SHO Rajouri and Vinod Kumar DySP Hqrs Rajouri was at naka checking duty at Salani area when one Scorpio vehicle Bearing JK01M 7456 on way towards Rajouri was intercepted.

The driver of vehicle disclosed his identification as Mohammad Shakoor son of Mohd Bashir resident of Dhani Dhar Rajouri.

Police further said that the said man was found in possession of 11 grams Herion like substance.

The vehicle was seized on spot and man has been arrested and booked in case FIR No 49 /2021 U/S 8(a)/21/25 NDPS Act.

Rajouri February eb 03:–The Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district have booked and arrested a man for murder of his wife who died under mysterious conditions on 16 Nov, 2020 after which inquest proceedings of the incident were taken up in Sunderbani police station.

On 16 November, 2020, an information was received regarding mysterious death of Rupakshi Sharma wife of Shanker Sharma resident of ward 4 of Sunderbani town.

Taking cognizance of the incident, police started inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC and post mortem of body was conducted in Sunderbani through board of doctors and spot evidences were also collected.

SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that a special investigation team headed by Sub Divisional Police Officer Nowshera Zakir Shaheen Mirza and Station House Officer Sunderbani Sanjeev Slathia under the supervision of Additional SP Nowshera, Girdhari Lal Sharma was constituted and investigation of the case was carried out in professional manner taking into note all the statements, evidences, circumstances and legal aspects.

” The needle of suspicion turned towards victim’s husband namely Shanker Sharma who was also detained while medical report and post mortem report established death of woman due to strangulation after which victim’s husband has been booked and arrested in case of murder of his own wife.” said SSP.

He added that a FIR 10/2021 under sections 302 IPC have been registered in Sunderbani police station and the accused stands arrested.
