Mandi,January 31:– The first case of Avian Flu commonly known as Bird Flu has been reported in Tehsil Mandi of Poonch district after samples taken from a dead crow tested positive on Saturday.DC poonch sh. Rahul Yadav said that samples of a dead crow, taken in Mandi tehsil have been tested positive for Avian influenza.He, however, said that no sample of domestic poultry has been tested positive so far.DC Poonch further informed that in the backdrop of this first case of Avian influenza, samples of all the sale points and backyard poultry shall be taken within one kilometre area of Mandi.”Regular surveillance shall also be maintained by the Animal Husbandry Department in the area,he said.

Rajouri January 31:–A public meeting was organized at thanna mandi which was presided by provincial president Devender Rana but the strange thing was that None of the top leader from Rajouri district including its District president Shafayat Khan, District secretary Shafqat Mir , Nerman Singh Local Leader & Ex District president Bashir wani, DDC Contested candidate Mohd Qasim Choudhary and several other prominent faces didn’t attended the programme which has highlighted a clear lobbyism within NC party in Rajouri. Moreover NC Lost Rajouri & Manjakote DDC Seats whereas Thanna Mandi which they fought with PDP was also lost. All the three DDC Segments were won by Congress recently
