    Chenab valley languages belong to Western Pahari classification : Bhalessa Heritage Centre

    Inhabitants veering for Pahari Status for Bhadwrwahi, Bhalessi, Paadri, Sirazi, Kishtwari, Pogli

    Jammu : To strive towards the inclusion of Western Pahari languages and Dialects of Valley of Chenab i.e Bhalessi, Bhaderwahi, Paadri, Kishtwari, Sirazi and Pogli under the state privosions, Bhalessa Heritage Centre for Reaseach and Development studies hold an emergency meeting which was attended by large number of intellectuals fora of Chenab valley. speaking on the occasion, Sh Sadaket Malik said that these languages and dialects are from Indo Aryan origin and comes under the manifold of Western pahari groupings like other languages and dialect chain of Himachal and Uttrakhand. Malik said that these Pahari languages of Bhalessi, Bhaderwahi, Paadri, Sirazi and Pogli are met with discrimination as the same has been classified in the Linguistics’ Survey of India (LSI) conducted by the British government. Malik said that these language groupings be given Pahari status as per the classification done by the Linguistics’ survey of India.


    The Bhalessa Heritage Centre has also started a campaign Western Pahari Chain of Valley of Chenab and Pahari status to them.
    The residents of the people of erstwhile Doda District has always been kept aside in several provision.
    Malik also demanded that 4 percent reservation be given to the pahari speaking people (PSP)

    He said that the areas classifued dialects like Bhalessi, Bhaderwahi, Kishtwari, Padri, Sirazi, Pogli need to be reserved under the ambit of Reservation Act by granting this language a Pahari Status. The speakers demabded 4 Percent Jobs be reserved, Pahari Hostels, Special Economic Package under Pahari Sub Plan and Pahari Sholarships for western Pahari languages of Chenab valley.


    Those who spoke include Abdul Majeed Bichoo, Fozia Mughal, Nehri Sadeeq Sairazi, Vijay Sharma, Swarn Kotwal, Ashok Kumar, Arif Ali, KD Shah and many others.

    Thanamandi January 14:_ Mr Mohd Tariq Raina AEE on behalf of Kolkata based NGO provided study material pertaining to Medical & engineering competitive exams for the students of Govt. Boys Model Higher Secondary School Thannamandi. The study material contain mathematics, biology, physics & chemistry books worth rupees fifty thousand. The books were received by principal of the school Mr. Mohd Sadeeq Ganai in presence of school staff & students. On the occasion Mr. Ganai thanked the founder of the NGO & Mr. Raina for providing highly beneficial study material for the students. Mr. Ganai in his address hoped that our students will get benefit from these books and will do better when thdy will sit in the medical & engineering competitive exams..

    Rajouri January 14:–In order to pip up the ranks to the recently promoted officials of middle rung in police department, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri district organised a pipping ceremony at District Police Lines Rajouri.

    The ceremony was organised after the order of promotion by Zonal Police Head Quarters Jammu, in favour of Head Constables who were recently promoted to the next rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors and SGCts who were promoted to Head Constables.

    The promoted officials expressed their gratitude towards Police Department for conferring the new and promoted ranks to them.

    SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli while holding interaction asked the promoted officers to remain committed for Police Department and ensure better public service, while as their families have also been complimented.

    Additional SP Rajouri Liaqat Ali, DySP DAR Zaheer Abbas and other officers and officials of the District police also attended the ceremony.

    Rajouri January 14:-Taking note of illegal mining from river bed using heavy machinery, the Jammu and Kashmir police in association with Geology and Mining department have seized a number of vehicles in last one week in Rajouri.

    Police said that there were reports of illegal mining with heavy machinery in various parts of the district after which teams were constituted which laid susprise nakas and raided several locations of river and seized vehicles involved in illegal mining.

    Police added that on Tuesday evening, a team of police headed by SI Ashish Chowdhary of Police Post Chingus seized three dumpers JK11C 4120, JK11A 1893 and JK02AV 6223 for illegal mining in Chingus Kallar area.

    Similarly, on Monday evening, three tippers JK02AP 7121, JK11C 3543, JK11 6397 were seized for illegal mining whereas around one dozen more vehicles have also been seized for illegal mining in last one week.

    Police said that stern action as per law is being taken against those involved in illegal mining.

    COVID19 safety kits distributed among BPL families of Rajouri

    Rajouri January :–Aimed towards extending a helping hand to the families spending their lives Below Poverty Line (BPL) in the tough time of Corona Virus pandemic, Jammu and Kashmir police here in Rajouri district distributed safety kits among these families in Budhal, Nowshera and Manjakote areas of Rajouri district.

    At these areas of the district, respective Station House Officers under the supervision of respective DSPs held interaction with BPL families and made them aware about the COVID19 pandemic and ways to prevent the transmission of viral infection on individual level.

    The safety kits that were distributed among the poor families comprised of gloves, masks, sanitizers, shields and other allied preventive equipments.
