Rajouri September 08 :-District administration on July,17 had claimed that the district has become free from the novel Coronavirus as all the three earlier tested positive have turned negative.
But within 50 days the situation has changed and become alarming as district has recorded 10 deaths due to Covid-19 and out of 1160 tested positive 852 have recovered/discharged while 299 are still active and are under home/ administrative and hospital quarantine/ isolation.
After relaxation in lockdown restrictions in the month of August the number of positive cases, due to contacts with already positive and travelers from red/containment zones, has increased alarmingly.
Even today three deaths were reported in the district, while the number of positive cases first time in a single day has reached 65.
“The situation has become alarming as the people are ignoring the gravity of the disease with impunity and don’t wear masks, keep social distancing while visiting the markets or other crowded places” said Additional Deputy Commissioner, Th. Sher Singh.
He added that many positive cases are being reported from Rajouri, Thanamandi, Nowshera , Kalakot, Sunderbani towns and the administration will go for RAT tests for everybody in such areas soon.
“Local cases are the cause of concern. All are requested to follow SOPs. Corona has not given relaxation” tweeted Th.Sher Singh
Nowshera Beopar Mandal and Municipal Committee have appealed to the district administration for RAT tests for everybody and decided to close the markets till Monday for the testing.
Mohd Nazir Sheikh, District Magistrate has appealed to the people to follow the SOPs/ guidelines for their safety.
He also warned for stringent measures, actions against the violators of SOPs/guidelines in the coming days.

CEO suspends teaching staff of Middle School for non-performance
Rajouri :-+After repeated complaints of non-performance and alleged dereliction of duty, Chief Education Officer Rajouri has placed under suspension the teaching staff of a middle school.
Suspension order issued by Ch Gulzar Hussain, CEO reads that the action was taken on the recommendation of Zonal Education Officer, Manjakot vide his office letter dated September 04.
Teachers placed under suspension of middle school at Mangal Nar village include Mohd Saif, Mukhrar Ahmed, Mohd Shafeeq, Shakeela Akhter and Nusrat Begam.
The teaching staff was found non-performer as they failed to distribute books, bags among the students, failed to provide important information (s) as required by the higher authorities from time to time and alleged dereliction of their official duties. -
Jammu Kashmir Apni Party holds public meeting at Darmari in Reasi Aijaz Ahmed Khan demands compensation for losses people suffered in recent heavy rains
REASI, Sept 08:–Continuing to hold interaction with the people for the redressal of their issues, Apni Party today organised a meeting of leaders and workers in Dharmari area in the District Reasi to discuss various issues being faced by the people.
In a statement to the press, the meeting was chaired by the Apni Party Vice President and Ex-Minister Aijaz Ahmed Khan in which prominent people from the areas participated.
During the meeting, the people expressed their concern over the continuous unscheduled power cuts which have affected their normal life.
The people, according to Khan, demanded compensation for the losses they suffered due to recent heavy rains. The flash floods and landslides have caused extensive damage for which the administration should take some corrective measures, Khan demanded after holding interaction with the locals.
He said that the people demanded that the drinking water supply and electricity has badly affected their normal life and the concerned departments should streamline their system to regularly supply water and provide uninterrupted electricity.
The Apni Party, Vice President, assured people that he will project their demands before the concerned authorities. Meanwhile, the people expressed their faith in the leadership of Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari and policies of the party.
Besides, the people also demanded opening of KV School at Darmari because poor families have no other reputed educational institution. -

Virtual assembly conducted in Poonch

Poonch September 08:–In an extraordinary attempt to boost and encourage the students during COVID-19 Epidemic.A Virtual Assembly was organised by the Chief Education Officer , Poonch and Principal DIET, Poonch (under the aegis of Aatam Nirbhar Bharat,a dream project of Ms Anuradha Gupta DSEJ.
The program was hosted by District Resource Group Poonch and coordinated by Sh Ajay Kumar, IT cell DSEJ.
More then 8000 students from 350+ community and home classes were linked through the Zoom application with the help of teachers from the district.
The virtual assembly started with the prayer (lab pe aati he dua) by a community class teacher named Mr Jaleel Khwaja and the students from Zone Sathra , followed by National Anthem.
All the community classes across the district joined the prayer and the National Anthem.
One student named Maimoona Safir, (GMS Hullu Mohra from Zone Balakote) read the News.The student of 3rd class Aishvi Raina, GMS Mangnar Zone Kanuyian presented the thought of the day.
A Gojri song was sung by Shakeel Ahmed from GMS Harijan Basti Kamsar, Zone Poonch followed by a beautiful Pahari Poem by Uma Shanker a 6th Class student from Zone Kanuyian.
Mohammed Danish Haseeb, GMS Kasaliyan, Poonch talked about the historical background and beauty of Noori Chamb.
Cheif Education Officer, Poonch appreciated the efforts made by the community/home class teachers and students.

Drug peddler arrested with consignment of Heroine in Rajouri
Rajouri,Sept 08:-In a major success, the police in Rajouri district on Tuesday arrested a drug peddler recovering a heavy consignment of 670 grams of Heroine.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Chandan Kohli addressed a press conference in his office and termed it a major success for police.
SSP Rajouri said that a team headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani and SI Danish IC PP City under supervision of Zaheer Abbas DysP DAR was patrolling in Panjal Gala area near Nambla Palullian village of Rajouri and intercepted a person identified as Basharat Hussain son of Mohammad Akram resident of Ninga Nar Thandikassi.
Although the said person tried to escape from the spot noticing the movement of police but alert cops detained him and during searches, a consignment of Heroine like substance was weighing 670 grams was recovered from his possession.
SSP Rajouri said that accused has been arrested and a case in FIR 467/2020 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Rajouri.
” This is a major success and peddler was trying to smuggle the consignment but police team managed to foil the peddling bid.” SSP Rajouri said adding that an investigation is going on into the matter to unearth all forward and backward links of this peddler and more arrests are expected soon.
