    Rajouri, August 11:–Family members of three youth from Rajouri district have alleged that their innocent kin, who had gone to Kashmir to earn a livelihood, were killed in an alleged gunfight, as claimed by the Army, on July,18 in Shopian district.
    They have demanded independent probe and possession of the bodies during meetings with DIG, Rajouri-Poonch police range, SSP Rajouri .
    Family members claimed they are poor people and never supported militancy. “We want that the truth behind innocent killings must come out”.
    Youth were identified as Abrar Ahmed s/o Bagha Khan; Imitiaz Ahmed s/o Sabar Hussain both r/o Dharsakri and Abrar Ahmed s/o Mohd Yousuf r/o Tarkashi. “Family members have been assured for every possible help from district Rajouri police. We are in touch with our counterparts at Shopian in this connection” said Chandan Kohli,SSP.

    On Sunday family members lodged missing report at Peeri police post about their missing from Shopian.
    On Monday their photos in the press were identified in Kashmir as militants killed in a gunfight with the army on July 18.
    Families on Monday approached SHO at Kotranka and the matter of alleged fake gunfight (No official statement yet, police will go for DNA matching before declaring the identities of the three youth) came to light.
    Kashmir police today claimed that some families have approached the Rajouri police claiming that the three militants killed in an operation at Amshipora (Shopian) were their kin who went missing from Shopian after their last contacted with the trio on July 17.
    Despite sufficient time provided for the identification of the bodies at PCR, Srinagar, and the bodies remained unidentified and were later buried in the presence of Magistrate after conducting post-mortem and lifting DNA samples, Kashmir police claimed.
    Shopian police reportedly have decided to go for DNA samples of the family members from Rajouri for matching purpose (with DNA samples of killed youth).
    On media reports /families claim, the Army has also started an investigation.
    Meanwhile, Rajouri police have asked the family members, who want to visit Shopian, to go for Covid-19 before the Shopian police call them for further investigation, claims for the bodies and for DNA sampling.
    Those who tested for Covid-19 today include Mohd Yousuf, Sabar Hussain fathers of Ibrar Ahmed & Imtiaz Ahmed respectively, mother of Ibrar Ahmed s/o Bagha Khan (who is in Saudi Arab) , Ibrar’s cousin Zulfikar and Guftar Ahmed , a prominent /political social activist.
    Meanwhile, Farooq Inqlabi,a prominent social activist & Chairman J&K Sarpanch Panch Democratic Forum met with SHO, Kotranka and handed over memorandum addressed to Lt Governor demanding judicial probe in the killing of innocent youths from their area.

    BHADERWAH , AUG 11– District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah , today lunched a week-long “Plantation drive” at Divisional forest office Bhaderwah here.The drive was inaugurated by Pr District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah and Chairman District Legal Services Authority Bhaderwah Ashok Kumar Shavan in presence of Sub Judge Reenu Dogra Gupta , Secretary District Legal Services Authority Bhaderwah Susheel Singh and Divisional Forest Officer Bhaderwah Chander Shekar . The drive was launched by planting medicinal saplings in the premises of Divisional Forest Complex and the forest Department had provided saplings for the purpose of planting them within the Bhaderwah and at all Legal Aid Clinics, Village Legal Care and support centers of the district.Speaking on the occasion, Chairman  DLSA  Ashok Kumar Shavan said they have set a target of planting  plants this season across the district especially in the premises of  Legal Aid clinics . While highlighting the importance of the green cover, Chairman DLSA , AShok Kumar Shavan said the unchecked deforestation has led to environmental disasters which include soil erosion. He said plantation is the only solution to avoid such disasters. He stressed on the need to create awareness about the environment, plantation, water, air, animals and everything which encompasses ecology.Concerned over the issue of global warming, he said the impact of global warming is felt world-over. In  Doda district itself, the effects of the global warming are felt with melting and shrinkage of glaciers, unwarranted floods, and unwarranted high temperature.The medicinal saplings were also distributed among the Para-Legal volunteers of the district Doda for planting these in their respective areas. Retainer lawyer Mohd Majid who was stage secretary said trees are our best friends and also threw light on several environmental legislations that existed in India and various steps taken by the Indian government and judiciary towards environment protection . He also explained Article 21 , 48 A and 51 ( A) of the constitution and added there are six laws related to environment protection and wildlife . Besides the DLSA Staff, TLSC Staff, Retainer Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers (PLV’s) were present on the occasion.Keeping in view the Covid-19 pandemic the SOP issued by government and social distancing was maintained during the drive.

    Srinagar, August 11 : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Farooq Ahmad Khan Tuesday said some people on social media call Shopian encounter a fake encounter to “deteriorate situation” in Kashmir.

    “Some people call Shopian encounter a staged or fake encounter in an attempt to deteriorate the situation in Kashmir. We will defeat all the conspiracies of those who want to deteriorate the situation in Kashmir.

    There are some reports about the missing of three persons. Enquiry has been started and everything will be clear very soon,” Khan told reporters in south Kashmir.
    On July 18, the army said three militants were killed in the higher reaches of Shopian in South Kashmir.

    However, no further details were shared. Families in Jammu region’s Rajouri have filed written complaints saying three men involved in labour work were missing from the same area.

    The army claimed that it is inquiring into an encounter by its troops in a South Kashmir village following complaints by families who have reported some men missing.

    On Monday, Srinagar-based Defence spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia issued a brief statement saying the army has noted social media inputs linked to the operations at Shopian on July 18.

    “The three terrorists killed during the operation have not been identified and the bodies were buried based on established protocols. The army is investigating the matter,” Colonel Rajesh Kalia said. The political parties have been demanding an impartial probe into the alleged encounter to ensure speedy justice.(KINS)

    Hailing from a remote and past militancy hits region Bunjwah, in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, Shafqat Ali Sheikh was born on 05 June 1994 in a middle poor class family in village Binoon of Tehsil Bunjwah. At the time of his birth, Shafqat’s family was residing in a muddy house constructed two decades ago by his grandfather. During the turmoil the family of Shafqat had been get harassed by various elements as militancy was on peak at that time and his family was living from hand to mouth. The family income of Shafqat was very low and was dependent on agricultural and other home practices. The parents of Shafqat were having ray of hope among him as He was the first male child in their family and his grandmother had served him a lot at the time of his childhood. Since from the day of his birth, his life takes various U turns despite his parents was feeling unsafe and unsecure as they have faces various threats, tortures from various ends.

    When Shafqat was 4 years old, He joined a private reputed institution Amin Academy Bunjwah in 1998 at his neighbouring village Jawalapur where He received basic education from Nursery upto class 8th till 2008 and later joined government institution in 9th class upto 12th received education from Government Higher Secondary School Binoon till 2013. Continuing his studies, Shafqat joined Government Degree College Kishtwar in 2013 in Arts stream and unfortunately due to some unfavourable circumstances of his family He was unable to attend the exam of two subject that results his failure in examination and wastage of year in academic session in 2014.

    Having ray of hope for betterment of life , He joined paramedical college in 2014 as Pharmacist trainee in Doda of which study centre was in Kishtwar that later was shifted to Doda and passed the examination through Jammu and Kashmir State Paramedical Council Jammu in Dec 2017 . During his training as Pharmacist He also decided to continue my studies through distance mode via IGNOU and completed his Graduation in year 2018 in Arts stream.

    During the spans of life in 2013, Shafqat’s life feels disgraced when He applied for post of teacher through RET mode in School Education Department that the post was later changed as General line teacher to provide undue benefits to some blue-eyed persons . Having not any Political approach or economically sound, He can’t challenge the orders passed by Education Department. The rejection of name in selection panel changes the mind of Shafqat not to loose hope but to do so that everyone could ask you for help and to curb such injustice with others that happens with Shafqat.

    During the time, Shafqat was using social networking sites including Facebook through which He get connected with one of dynamic Journalist Mohd Majid Malik who via telephonic call published a news story of regarding Bunjwah using his reference in the story that was second time, the name of Shafqat was published in newspaper and He getted too much excited after reading his name in newspaper for that He received various appreciations from various corners. “This news story changes the mind to become a fearless journalist and to become voice of voiceless, Shafqat told Reporter”. Adding that, the day was a historic day in my life when a news was carried by a reputed newspaper by my tagline and finally I worked as Reporter of Newspaper till 2015 under the guidance of Sr. Journalists Mohd Majid Malik, Junaid Malik, Mansoor Qadir, and various others. Although working as Reporter, one day when my news item was not carried by reputed Newspaper I decided to write voluntary and to be a Freelancer”. Working as Freelance Journalist since from 2016, Shafqat got various opportunities but finally decided to be a freelancer and to become a independent voice of voiceless. Since from 2016, Shafqat writes various news stories and raised various issues through print and electronic media as Freelancer. Shafqat had written hundreds of columns, articles and editorials on current issues that had got published in various leading dailies, weeklies Newspaper of state and even in National Newspapers.

    During his working as Freelancer and advantages of social networking sites, Shafqat got membership in All Indian Reporters Association from Jammu and Kashmir, and later in Human Right Organizations that backed up him in raising the issues on public interest. In 2017 Shafqat was shortlisted for Voice of Kashmir Journalist of year Award from National Human Right Social Justice Commission New Delhi by Amb. Amar Sarang. But unfortunately He failed to attend the award ceremony due to his personal reasons. Continuing working as Freelance Journalist, French Club Jammu features Shafqat as Personality of Jammu and awarded him Journalist of Year award on 15 Mar 2019 that encourages the hopes and helps in writing columns and articles on public interest through print and social blogs. In 2019 India Star book of world records shortlisted name of Shafqat as best awardee in field of Social Activism and Journalism of which He get all awardee certificates and badges via courier as He had not attended the ceremony .

    Having interest in Journalism, Shafqat is pursuing PG Course in Journalism and Mass Communication through IGNOU.

    During the time of his reporting , Shafqat received various threats, emotional tortures and family blackmailing by some self styled politicians from various corners but Alhamdulillah By Almighty Allah blessing noone can stop Shafqat and even his father was harassed by various goons to stop him from raising the issues of common masses. Some miscreants are yet trying to blackmail Shafqat on the name of his father, but without caring anyone Shafqat continuously is raising the issues of poor and downtrodden masses for the welfare of society.

    “Now a days , Journalism had became my passion and profession for providing helping hands among all needy and orphans as through various organisations including Global Peace Foundation, Khidmat Foundation and SHAHEEN Trust , I am providing helping hands for all masses without any discrimination of caste or religion, Shafqat added”.

    Shafqat’s name was also shortlisted for FMBAF Award by AN CONSULTANCY INDIA and The NICHE Mumbai of which the function was held on 14 June 2019 at St Andrews Bandra West Mumbai Maharashtra and Shafqat bagged 24Caret Gold plated Certificate and AN CONSULTANCY INDIA medal.

    Beside all this Shafqat was awarded as Best Reporter Award by NSS Unit of GDC Kishtwar in collaboration of District Administration Kishtwar for mass awareness of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and SVEEP campaign during 2019 and also bagged best Columnist Award on occasion of Republic Day 2020 by District Administration Kishtwar. Shafqat was also feliciated and was awarded with Certificate of Participation / Appericiation by Team French Club Jammu during International Players Meet Up 2020 held at Sweet Tempetation inside Maharaja Hari Singh Jammu on 15 Mar 2020.
    The whole story changes my mind to become voice of voiceless and is trying to become one who wins the heart of others despite all threats while concluding Shafqat said that , “Only Death can Silent me else No One can face Me” Shafqat added.

    Mendhar August 11:-One person was killed and at least two others were injured, when a Maruti Swift car met with an accident in Achchad Pehliyan village of Mendhar area of Poonch district on Tuesday 2 pm.

    Reports said the vehicle (Maruti Swift car — JK 12 A 9812) which was going from Mendhar to Salani village, fell into an accident on the road, in which three people, one of whom died and two others were injured, including a woman. On receiving the news of the accident, the locals reached on spot who rescued the injured and took them to the sub district hospital in Mendhar, where doctors declared Ata Mohammad son of Shah Mohammad 18 resident Salani is dead. On the other, Shah Mohammad son of Abdul Hussain (driver), Salima Akhtar wife of Manzoor Hussain, both residents of Salani village are injured is undergoing treatment at the sub district hospital in Mendhar.

    When contacted Mendhar block medical officer Dr Parvez Khan confirmed that three people who have been victims of a road accident, one of the three youths has died and the other two injured people have been treated by Mendhar. The district is running in a hospital which is out of danger.

    After this incident, the police arrived at spot to take stock of the incident and a case was registered at Mendhar police station.

    The interaction was fruitful and progressive as she narrated about her hardwork and perseverance while preparing for the examination. The Commanding Officer encouraged her efforts and reiterated that she now bears the light to encourage other youths to follow the same path.     Reasi, 11th day of August, 2020: All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) Incharge District Reasi, Rahul Dev Singh met with DC Reasi Smt. Indu Kanwal Chib and highlighted grievances of the parents including non-reform fee structure charged by private schools in the district.

    While highlighting the grievances District Incharge, Rahul Dev Singh told DC Reasi that despite of various government orders for charging only tuition fees from the students, private schools in the district are charging different amount from the students and those who were unable to pay the fee are dropped or no study material is being supplied to them. The government while issuing various orders has observed that those who are unable to pay fee, no action against those students will be taken by the school faculty.

    District Incharge, Rahul Dev Singh request the DC, Reasi for looking into the matter and directing the private schools to charge reasonable tuition fee so that no student become deprived of his/her education and not to expel any student during this global pandemic.

    While considering the demands, DC, Reasi, Smt. Indu Kanwal Chib assured AJKYF District Incharge that a committee of government officials will be constituted and grievances of the parents will be addressed soon.

    Srinagar: J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Welfare Conference (JKGBYWC) Unit Shopian Lead by Choudhary Aziz, alongwith Teshil President Keller, Muzaffar Choudhary, Vice President, Muzaffar Awan, Fareed Ahmad Halqa President Zampathri and Irshad Islam Halqa President Chawan, visited Zampathri area in order to Enquire about the Problems and issues confronted to the people of the area in lockdown time where the people at large number apprised them about the issue of Macdamisation of road in their area latter the Aziz Choudhary alongwith team and Locals held Protest demonstration against PMGSY, Department, for delaying to start lay the macdam on said road.Meanwhile, he while speaking with media the President alleged that “In our Gujjar belts, most of the interiors have not been blacktopped for years. You can see the big potholes and condition here. It is very difficult for motorists to drive on the road and the Zampathri road is live example.For a common man, travel has become a life and death struggle as insufficient budgetary allocation by the government is also delaying the repairs of roads.He while speaking said that “Continued delay to undertake repairs and macdamise of damaged roads is giving a tough time to the people who have to travel daily to reach their offices, schools or for regular works in Shopian.He however, talked to Executive Engineer, Muzafar Sab, AE, JEs of the concern Departments, about the issue and they have assured them that on getting testing result they will start the macdamisation works before 15th August.On getting assurance from Department the activists of JKGBYWC, call off the Protest by saying that if the Department concern would not start the work as per their promise made us they will hit again the road they Warned.
