DLCW distributed Sanitary kits under Beti Bachao Beti padhao Awareness imparted regarding Mensutral Hygiene

Rajouri 18 May :On the directions of District Development commissioner Mohammad Nazir Sheikh and under the supervision of DSEO and Nodal officer of MSK Rajouri Mr. Bilal Rashid Mir, DLCW has taken an initiative to distribute sanititary pads, Antiseptic Soaps and other hygienic products among girls and women in district Rajouri.
As the country is under lockdown from the last few months to arrest the spread of coronavirus. Due to which many women have lost access to essentials including hygiene products.

Anum Mirza (Women Welfare Officer, Rajouri) along with her team including District co-ordinators Sanjana Thakur and Nazma Sheikh* has come to the rescue of underprivileged women by providing them free sanitary napkins in these unprecedented times.

While imparting awareness on covid-19 and distributing masks and sanitizers, many girls and women demand of providing free sanitary napkins because they didn’t want to use unhygienic cloth strips that can cause infection. Along with hunger there is another battle to be fought in lock down that is menstrual hygiene… so MSK team realised that girls and women of remote areas deadly faced the shortage of sanitary napkins. MSK team taken an initiative to Change the plight of menstrual women in Rajouri.
Miss Anum Mirza (Women Welfare Officer) said that “women of rural areas have struggled to gain access the basics with menstrual hygienic products being the most elusive to them. We stepped in with an initiative to distribute free sanitary pads to the women most in need”.
Like education hygiene is equally important. Poor hygiene can put youth at a disadvantage. Without improving health conditions we can’t make a better and brighter India.

Besides distribution, DLCW team imparted awareness to girls and women especially in rural areas where females have very less knowledge about reproductive tract infections caused due to ignorance of personal hygiene during menstruation time. So this initative is taken under bbbp campaign as for better and bright future of any nation, girl’s health and education plays a vital role. Without improving their health conditions we can never dream of a healthy nation.
