    Rajouri, May 16 :- Commuters in Rajouri District complained that the authorities have failed to check the overloading in passenger vehicles during covid-19 plying on different routes in Thanna Mandi of Rajouri district.

    The commuters alleged that the drivers were putting the life of the passengers to great risk by overloading.

    People from different villages said that almost on every route the overloaded small vehicles such as Eco, Sumo ply without any fear at the time of epidemic of covid-19.

    This situation prevails mostly in rural and remote areas. The public transport scenario becomes even worse during lockdown where vehicle are not allowed to move from one place to another except any emergency.

    Thanna Mandi Police is not aware are not trying to be aware of the situation during lockdown, where vehicles will move freely without any fear it will show the inactiveness of Thanna Mandi Police.

    “The passengers are hang from the back of the vehicles. While some are made to sit beside the driver’s seat, which is against the safety of norms.

    The nomadic families were on their way to Nandimarg when they were caught in snow storm

    Kulgam: Kulgam police received an information that some Nomad families are stuck in snow storm at peer Panchal hills. On getting information a joint team of SDRF/Police Kulgam was constituted under the close supervision of SSP kulgam headed by SDPO and SHO Damal Hanji Pora. During the rescue operation it came to surface that five families consisting of thirty (30) members belonging to Nomads migrating along with their livestock were stuck in snow storm the Nomadic families were on way towards their Pasture Nandimarg Kulgam, via routes of higher reaches of peer Panchal range.On reaching at Bada Peer Panchal they got stuck in snow storm due to which 15 horses and 250 Sheeps died but no loss of human life have been reported in the incident. All the family members including woman and children were rescued and shifted to Zomasthal Pasture near Village Nandimarg.
    Meanwhile, J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Welfare Conference,State President, Zahid Parwaz Choudhary, demanded immediate Compensation be Provided to the affected families who lost their livestock in snow storm today.
    He said that Govt has no vision & clear Policy to accomodate the People when such type of incidents happen no help line has been set by Govt in order to inform the Police or other agencies that their life in danger

    Zahid Parwaz Choudhary in his Statement said that not only this year but every year the nomads faces  natural calamity during migration they faces the major damage of their livestock but atlast nothing is to be given to them which is matter of great concern.
    He demanded that state government should start an insurance scheme for animals enabling the tribes to tackle such drastic weather issue and push ahead their life and run their livelihood.
    He also demanded immediate Compensation should be given to the affected families.

    :– There is great grief in the public circles over the premature transfer of SDPO Surankote. On Saturday night, after hearing the news of the premature transfer of SDPO Sarankot Javaid Tabassum (KPS) many political, social and youths took to social media to express their grief and call for the immediate revocation of the transfer order. On Saturday, the youths staged a massive protest demanding that the exchange should be stopped. They said that the SDPO has played an important role in changing the situation in Surankote in a very short span of time. They also said the way he played a key role in the corona virus was commendable. They further said that it was the unfortune of the people of Surankote that whenever a former officer was posted here, and was transferred prematurely, many examples of which have been seen in the past. The youth added that the officer was an example of honesty and he is very popular among the people because of their transparency. The further added that whatever he did, it was in the public interest and his characteristic was that he was against influence on political grounds.

    AJKYF Shows concern over land grabbing at Salal Dam Reasi

    Reasi,May 16:– All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) Secretary Incharge, District Reasi, Thakur Mandeep Singh shows concern over grabbing of government land falling under NHPC at Salal Dam Project by the locals.

    Thakur Mandeep Singh while issuing press statement here today said that the local revenue officials being deaf ear ignored the encroachment of government land in Village Thanpal situated near Salal Dam of District Reasi which is causing trouble to the locals as such land was used for cattle grazing and footh path to the cremation ground of the local area.

    Thakur Mandeep Singh also wrote a letter to the District Commissioner, Reasi and other revenue officers highlighting the grabbing of government land by the locals unlawfully by placing barbed wire fencing across the land but till date no action has been taken against the land grabbers.

    Secretary Incharge, District Reasi demanded probe into the matter under the supervision of the DC, Reasi and also demanded legal action against the land grabbers.
