    Rajouri,April,08:To take stock of the status of essential services being provided to the general public and to avoid any Blackmarketing,overpricing and hoarding during the lockdown period due to CoronaVirus pandemic,the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Wednesday convened a meeting with the concerned officers.

    Assistant Director FCS&CA informed that there is an adequate stock of essential commodities in the district.He further informed that the process of distribution of Advance ration for the month of April and May has been started.He also informed that about 62 percent of the advanced ration has been distributed covering 1 lakh families and the remaining will be distributed within weeks time.He further informed that 1771 inter-state/Inter district stranded labourers families were provided with the packets of ration in the district.

    While reviewing the status of the Market checking to stop Blackmarketing, overpricing and hoarding of the essential commodities like rice,flour, fruits, vegetables etc and medicines in the district,the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri asked Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs,Tehsildar Rajouri,Officers of Legal Metrology,Officers of Drugs Department to carry out marketing checking on daily basis.

    The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Tehsildar Rajouri and officers of the Horticulture and Marketing Department to ensure proper display of rate list of the fruit and vegetables,so that over pricing can be controlled.He also asked the officers to review the availability of medicines and other Commodities in the district.

    The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri also directed the District Sheep Husbandry Officer and Chief Animal Husbandry Officer to conduct marketing checking to ensure that better quality mutton and poultry meat is provided to the consumers.

    The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the plan for facilitating movement of the seasonal nomads to the upper reaches and distribution of seeds by the Agricultural Department in wake of the coming sowing season.

    The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Sher Singh,Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs,Mukhtar Ahmed lone, Tehsildar Rajouri Sheraz Chouhan,District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhury,District Agriculture Officer,Janak Raj,Chief Animal Husbandry Officer,Mohd Younis,officer from Drugs and Horticulture and Marketing Department.

    Rajouri,April 08:In a bid to raise district level funds to fight the Corona Virus pandemic, the Administrator Auqaf and Chairman Shahdra Sharif shrine committee, Abdul Qayoon Dar contributed an amount of rupees 11 lakhs in district disaster management fund.

    His wife Mtr. Shamim Akhter also donated an amount of 3.5 lakhs out of her personal savings.

    The cheques were handed over to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh in presence of Adv. Tazeem Dar and other officers of administration including media persons.

    The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh while speaking on the occasion hailed the efforts of Administrator Auqaf and his wife for their donation in the district disaster management fund.

    DC informed that the district administration Rajouri has an amount of rupees 25 lakhs in district disaster management fund.

    He said that it is social responsibility for all to come forward for their help and donate in such funds besides providing essential commodities to the needy families.

    He also highlighted that the amount in the District Disaster Management fund would be used for the Augmentation of the Health Infrastructure in the district.

    He also assured them that district administration Rajouri is committed to provide them all the basic necessities to the general public.He added that there is adequate stock of essential commodities in the district.

    He urged upon the public to follow the guidelines of the lockdown by staying in their houses and maintain social distancing so that the chain of COVID19 spread can be broken.

    Rajouri ,April 8 :- Amid continuous lockdown in Rajouri district due to COVID19, the Jammu and Kashmir police initiated action against a number of violators which included a stone crusher owner, tipper drivers, salesman of a bar and a shopkeeper.

    Police in its media statement said that a police party of police station Rajouri headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani was on patrolling in Dhangri and Sarnoo areas when his team noticed that a crusher at Saranoo area is being run.

    Taking note of it, the owner of crusher namely Kiran Kumar Sharma son of Bhola Ram resident of Jawahar Nagar and others have been booked in a case FIR 194/2020 under sections 188 IPC.

    The patrolling team of Rajouri police station headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani also apprehended three tippers drivers namely Mohammad Farooq son of Mohammad Younis resident of Maira Chowkian, Mohammad Farooq son of Mohammad Afsar resident of Nagrota and Khushal Hussain son of Fazalet Hussain resident of Nagrota who were driving tippers with registration numbers JK14E 4831, JK11C 8932 and Jk11D 5569 respectively, said police.

    The vehicles were found plying on road with construction material in clear violation of norms amid lockdown after which the vehicles have been seized, drivers have been arrested while three separate FIRs
    191/20, 192/20 and 193/20 under section 188 IPC have been registered against the accused person police added.

    Similarly, police said, an information was received by police that a person is selling liquor in Jawahar Nagar area after which team of police from Rajouri police station rushed to the spot and apprehended a person who was selling liquor to some persons outside a bar.

    The customers managed to flee from the spot but the salesman was nabbed on the spot who have been identified as Pritam Chand son of Munshi Ram resident of Kangra Himachal Pradesh and 36 liquor bottles were recovered from his possession.

    FIR 195/20 under sections 188/IPC 48A Excise Act has been registered against the accused.

    Another team of police post Teryath headed by SI Ajaz Mirza apprehended four violators namely Nazeer Hussain son of Gulab Din, Mohammad Zabeer son of Abdul Ghafoor, Mohammad Farooq son of Ghulam Hussain, all residents of Gaibass Teryath and Ganesh Dutt son of Dev Raj resident of Treru, police informed adding that all the violators have been booked in cases registered in Dharamsal police station.

    Meanwhile, police patrolling team from Bhawani police post headed by SI Ashish Chowdhary found Ex-Sarpanch Parshotam Lal son of Des Raj resident of Jhanger carrying his house construction work by engaging laborers after which the said person has been booked under relevant sections of law and a case has been registered in Nowshera police station.

    In it’s official statement, police further said that a team from Budhal police station headed by SHO Budhal Som Raj found a shopkeeper violating the lockdown order who have been identified as Mohammad Shakeel son of Abdul Gafoor resident of Dandote.
    The said shopkeeper have been booked by police in a case FIR 19 /20 under section 188 IPC in Budhal police station.

    SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli appealed to the people of Rajouri to stay inside and play their role in the fight against COVID-19.
