    Violators booked across district, SSP appeals parents to restrict unnecessary movement of wards

    Rajouri,March 25:- The lockdown ordered in Rajouri district continued on Wednesday with government authorities strictly enforced the curbs for safety of entire society from COVID19.

    In its official statement, police said that entire district remained under lockdown on Wednesday with authorities ensured that public movement on roads was allowed only for procurement of essential commodities.

    A number of violators were also booked by police across the district.

    Police said that two shopkeepers were booked in Darhal town whereas driver of an auto load carrier was booked for carrying passengers in Sunderbani police station area while five other vehicles were seized in the said police station.

    Police said that Thanamandi police also registered four FIRs under sections 188, 269 IPC and 3 Epidemic Disease Act against four shopkeepers who include Ashraf Javed of Saaj, Javed Ahmed from Nerojal, Mohammad Fareed from Manyal and Mohd Amin from Bowli. Thanamandi police station also registered two FIRs against Mohammad Zulfkar and Maqsood Ahmed, residents of Saaj for violating the restriction orders.

    Eight person from Draman Budhal were also booked in a case in Budhal police station for violating the order of restrictions whereas Kandi police station registered two cases against drivers of tata mobile JK02BQ 3017 and auto JK11C 4564 for plying on roads in violation of the order of District Magistrate Rajouri.

    Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Chandan Kohli appealed guardians and parents of all the youth to ensure that the youth remain inside their house for 21 days lockdown period.

    ” We will take action as per law if anyone is found roaming on roads without any emergent reason.” said SSP.

    Poonch,March 25:-A case has been registered by Poonch police against the owner and reporter of Urdu newspaper Sada-E-Kohastan namely Ab.Haleem Awan S/o Ab.Saleem R/0 Hari Surankote for Publishing fake news in the newspaper as six persons test positive for CoVid 19 which created a fear and confusion in the local populace.
    Acting on the complaint Surankote police under the direction of Ssp Poonch Sh.Ramesh Angral (JKPS) registered FIR no 40/20 u/S 505(1) IPC in P/S Surankote. The investigation of the case has been started.

    District Police Poonch is requested the general public to adhere the rule and regulation stay at home,maintained the general hygiene and don’t believe in fake and malicious news.

    Within hours of the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines clearly stating that no religious congregation will be permitted due to the COVID-19 lockdown, in the early hours of 25 March, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath attended a religious ceremony, to move the Ram Lalla idol to a new structure – where The Quint has learnt that 50-60 people were in attendance.
    Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister wrote, “Ayodhya invites … The first phase of the construction of the grand Ram temple was completed today, Maryada Purushottam Prabhu Sri Rama Tripala has been seated on a new pedestal. The idol of ‘Ramlalla’ was moved from the temporary structure near Manas Bhawan. Presented a check of ₹ 11 lakh for the construction of the grand temple.”
    This came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete lockdown in India for 21 days, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The guidelines issued after his speech, clearly specify “All places of worship shall be closed for public. No religious congregations will be permitted, without any exception.” (point 9)
    At Ayodhya, Yogi Adityanath, Champat Rai and several prominent saints were present in attendance.
    The Quint spoke to Mahant Satendra Das, head priest of the Ram Temple, who was present himself at the ceremonies. He said “There were two poojas. The first started around 4:15 am, where the Ram lalla who had been kept in a temporary structure, was moved by the chief minister himself to the new structure. It ended around 7:00 am. The chief minister was in attendance and at least 50-60 people. This included the district magistrate, prominent saints, security officials, members of the CM’s team, media persons and others.”
    The district magistrate of Ayodhya announced on 21 March that no devotees will be allowed to enter the city from 21 March up to 2 April and, directed all lodges, hotels to cancel bookings.
    The Navrati and Ram Navami celebrations in Ayodhya, which is in a religious site, see lakhs of devotees flocking every year.

    People on Twitter reacted to UP CM Adityanath’s prayer meet on 25 March morning, and asked him why he was flouting the lockdown.

    DC Rajouri inspects Quarantine Centres, takes stock of arrangements

    Rajouri: The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today visited various Quarantine centres established in the district and took stock of arrangements being put in place for the persons coming from abroad.The DC was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kholi,CMO,Sanjeev Puri,EXN PHE,PDD, Additional Superintendent of Police Liaqat Choudhary,ACR,Mohd Ashraf,DY CMO,Anees Altaf Nabi,AD FCS &CA, Mukhtar Ahmed lone,DIO, Narinder Raina and other officers form the Health and MC Rajouri.

    The Deputy Commissioner visited the Quarantine Centre established at Government Girls Higher secondary school Rajouri and Boys Pahari Hostel Rajouri and took stock of arrangements being in place at the Quarantine Centres.The DC was informed that Supervisory Officers,cooks ,Sweepers and Nodal Officers have also been designated for each quarantine centre established across the district who will assist and report the District Quarantine Nodal Officer.

    The DC also interacted with the Supervisory and Medical staff. He directed the concerned to remain in touch with the District Administration and directed for frequent fumigation of the Quarantine centres premises.The DC impressed the concerned officers to provide proper hygienic refreshment to the boarders besides ensuring proper sanitation, heating and round the clock electricity at the Quarantine centre.

    Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner convened a meeting of officers to review the preparedness in wake of COVID-19 and to review facilities being provided at Quarantine Centres established in the district.

    The Senior Superintendent of Police l,Chandan Kholi, Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Sanjeev Puri,Additional Deputy Commissioner,Sher Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Liaqat Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd Ashraf,Deputy Director planning, Bilal Mir, District Panchayat Officer Dr Abdul Khabir, Tehsildar Rajouri Sheraz Chouhan,Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs, Mukhtar Ahmed lone,STO,Ashiq Rafiq Malik, District Information Officer,Narinder Kumar ,EO MC Rajouriand other concerned officers attended the meeting.

    A threadbare discussion was held with regards to preventing deadly pandemic Coronavirus,facilities at the Quarantine centres, fumigation of the cities,GMC and other issues like restrictions in the movement of public, checking of the markets, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that 31 Quarantine Centres with 1210 beds have been established in the district as per the prescribed protocol of the Government.

    The DDC directed concerned officers to ensure the availability of all basic facilities in the Quarantine Centres and directed to provide separate rooms for ladies and gents.It was also informed in the meeting that an exclusive women Quarantine centre has been established at Government Girls Higher secondary school Rajouri.

    He said that all rooms should be properly ventilated, besides arrangements of heating, lighting, electricity and water supply should be ensured. Special arrangements for covered bins, washrooms, sanitizers and triple layer masks should be made available.

    The DC directed that refreshment to be provided to the inmates. He also directed Executives Officers of Municipal Committees to ensure proper sanitation services in and around the Quarantine Centres by ensuring spraying and fumigation.

    The Officers of Food safety,FCS&CA,Legal Meteorology was directed to check the market as number of complaints are pouring in regarding hike in prices of the essential Commodities.
