    Rajouri,June 26: District administration Rajouri under the leadership of District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today celebrated international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking with the theme “Health for justice and justice for health.”

    Drug abuse is a patterned use of drugs in which the user consumes the substance in larger amounts which are harmful to them. It is a widespread problem that makes individual drug users the prime victims.

    The day was celeberated at Industrial training institute Rajouri and DDC Rajouri was the chief guest on the occassion.Senior Superintendent of police Yougal Manhas, Excise taxation officer Virinder Singh Pawar, principal ITI Liyakat Chowdhary besides other government functionaries were also present during the programme. The programme was organised by the Excise Department.

    While speaking on the occassion the DDC said that health and justices are two sides of the same coin when it comes to addressing the problems of drug abuse.
    He added that an integrated and holistic approach needs to be adopted to strengthen the crimininal justice system, health institutions with the involvement of NGOs and Civil society. He said that a resolution is has been passed in all the 312 panchayats to make them free from drug abuse. He added that teams consisting of magistrates, police officers, excise officers and PRIs will be constituted for the strict enforcement of the resolution.

    SSP Rajouri guided the students about ill effects of drug abuses and urged them to participate in the sports activities in order to keep them physically fit. He also advised the students to spread the message against drug abuse in the society.

    On this International Drug day A rally also been organised by Liaqat Chodhary and Amjad Mir in the Campus of ITI Rajouri where hundred of students participating in this rally .

    On this occassion a rally was organised in which students of ITI and the officials of Excise department participated.The students carried banners and raised slogans against drug abuse. Later a debate competition of students was also organised at ITI Rajouri. Prizes were distributed among the students who participated in the competition.

Electrification to uncovered houses, electric poles for those using trees and wooden poles.

    KOTRANKA RAJOURI: Jammu and Kashmir police in Sub District kotranka on Wednesday held an awareness programme for hundreds of school going students.

    Awareness programme was held at Government Higher Secondary school Kotranka and was based on awareness against the ill-effects of narcotics and drugs addiction.

    Station House officer Kandi, Mustaj Ahmed chaired this programme in presence of other officers and officials from education department posted in the school.

    Students were made aware about the menace of drugs abuse and narcotics addiction and were also made aware about the symptoms of an addict so that early intervention of other family members can prevent the said man from becoming a full addict.

    On this International Drug day A rally also been organised by Liaqat Chodhary and Amjad Mir in the Campus of ITI Rajouri where hundred of students participating in this rally .

    The participants students have spoken on the topic of drug abuse and prizes were distributed among participants, sweets were distributed among all the students . The rally was taken out in the kotranka market and ended peacefully, teachers from DIET Rajouri also joined the program.

    Rajouri,June 26:-In order to mark international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking and to make people aware about the menace of addiction among youth, Jammu and Kashmir police organised a series of events across Rajouri district on Wednesday.

    These programmes were held under the supervision of Additional SP Rajouri Liyaqit Ali and Additional SP Nowshera GL Sharma and under the overall supervision of SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas covering all the parts of the district.

    In Budhal, a debate competition on ‘ill effects of drugs addiction’ was held at Budhal higher secondary school in which Judicial Magistrate Shafeeq Ahmed, Additional SP Rajouri Liyaqit Ali, Dr. Ranjan from army unit, Station House Officer Budhal Sanjay Raina, Naib Tehsildar Budhal, school principal and a number of civil society members were present while a large number of school students were also present.

    Besides debate, lecture on awareness against the drugs menace was also delivered in the programme. Earlier, an awareness rally was also taken out in Budhal in which a large number of students and locals took part.

    In Sunderbani, an awareness programme on drugs addiction and illict trafficking was held at Sunderbani court complex in which prosecuting officer Yuvraj Singh among a number of advocates were present.

    A semimar on the said theme was also held at higher secondary school Manjakote in which Tehsildar Manjakote Sageer Chowdhary, SDPO Manjakote Nisar Khoja, SHO Manjakote Manzoor Kohli and a number of other officials and civil society members besides school students were present.

    An awareness rally on ‘drugs abuse’ was earlier taken out in Manjakote area in which participants spread awareness against the menace.

    In government higher secondary school Solki, an awareness programme was held for students and locals which was chaired by SHO Dharamsal Amit Singh along with other officials and civil society members. Students were made aware about drugs abuse and its ill effects and need to fight this menace with coordination from all stakeholders of society.

    An awareness rally against ‘drugs abuse and illicit trafficking’ was also taken out in Kotranka by police in collaboration with staff from District Institute of Education and Training Rajouri. Students from higher secondary school Kandi Kotranka and civil society members took part in the rally holding placards against the menace.

    An awareness programme was also held at himalayan education mission school in Rajouri in which DySP HQrs Rajouri Govind Rattan, SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider, DySP (Prob.) Dr. Ishan Gupta and Incharge Police Post Rajouri city, SI Suresh Sharma were present while school staff and students were present. Students were made aware about the menace of drugs addiction and they were motivated to become ambassadors of war against drugs in society.

    In Thanamandi, an awareness rally was held at tehsil headquarter in which Sub Divisional Magistrate Thanamandi, Dr. Tanveer Khan, Sub Divisional Police Officer Thanamandi, Mohammad Sidiq, Tehsildar Thanamandi Anjum Khan, Station House Officer Javed Malik and civil society members and a large number of students from education institutions were present. Amid holding placards of awareness against drugs addiction, participants also raised slogans against the menace.

    An awareness programme headed by Station House Officer Sunderbani Naveen Angral was also held in which students from educational institutions of the area took part.

    They were made aware about the menace and were appealed for raising voice at every level of society against thie menace.
    A talk was delivered to the students and other participants in a similar program at ITI Rajouri by SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas in presence of DC Rajouri Mohd Aijaz Asad who chaired the programme and also launched bhang destruction derive.

    Srinagar 26 Jun :-A program Regarding International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking was held by Department of Psychiatry, G. M.C Srinagar in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Control Society at General Health Community Centre SMHS.

    Prof Mohd. Maqbool H. O.D welcomed the guests and presented welcome Address.
    Principal GMC were the chief guest and Deputy Director Blood Transfusion Services, JKSACS were guest of honor.
    Principal GMC Dr Kaiser highlighted the role of society and religious teachings to eradicate the menace of Drug from the society.
    Dr. Yasir Hassan gave the presentation on overview of substance abuse and highlighted its preventive measures.
    Dr sanjeet kour stressed upon the Rise in opioid use. While as Lawyer CNC, Syed Mujtaba highlighted the role of criminal justice responses, social reintegration, the legal and societal stigma which continues to be associated with drug use and dependence.
    On the occasion Students of Bibi Haleema College of Nursing and Alamdar College of Nursing IUST ,Ms Zoya Mphil student and Shabnam Rashid sr. Nurse performed the Activities with the theme of Program Drug Abuse.
    Dr Aaliya and Fatima Mphil student cordinated the program.
    The program was concluded with a vote of thanks given by Javaid Jeelani, Councellor OST IMHANS-K.

    UDHAMPUR, 26 June GNS: Sports players of Udhampur today staged massive protest under the banner of District Table Tennis Association Udhampur against J&K Sports Council over delay in opening of Indoor Sports Complex Udhampur at Subash Stadium Udhampur.

    While interacting with media persons, Abhay Mahajan (national table tennis player) said that on 13 Nov 2013 foundation stone of the complex was laid by then sports minister with 9 months assurance but several deadlines missed and after 7 yrs much hyped project has finally completed & on 11 June 2019 inauguration of the project by Hon’ble Governor was scheduled but due to some reasons the Governor’s visit stands canceled & inauguration of the complex hanged in the mid way. He informs that they had repeatedly apprised the District Administration & Sports Council with the issue but nothing has been done yet.

    Further, Another National Table Tennis Player Gourav Sharma said that “Our practice has been stopped due to the casual approach of Sports Council towards sports as they are playing with the future of Youngsters, Sports council is completely failed to address the issues of Youngsters, he alleged
