Jammu June 15:–The Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ)suspended routine Opd’s on Saturday for two hours in all hospitals of Jammu region to support the pan India protest against the attack on doctors in West Bengal .
Dr Balvinder Singh, President DAJ said that attack on West Bengal doctors was a barbaric incident and simulated like a mob lynching ,As a mob of 200 people brutally assaulted doctors with no fault of theirs.He further retreated that he can understand the pain and agony of te patients and their attendance in such situations but still requested caution.
The DAJ demand that strict laws should be enacted so as to curb such incidents frequently. The president again appeals the patients and their relatives to keep faith in doctors as no doctor in world would wish his patient dies.
If situation in country will deteriorates like this he fears, Doctors will refuse to admit serious patients and all hospitals will become referral hospitals only.
On behalf of doctors association jammu he again appeals the Honourable Governor SH Satya pal Malik to kindly intervene and make assault on doctors a non bailable offence, provide better infrastructure to hospitals of state so that doctors work in peaceful environment.

“Ageing With Dignity” week long campaign culminates with Senior Citizen Mela in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JUNE-15:- A Week long campaign “ Ageing With Dignity” culminated today with senior citizen Mela and presenting momentous to elderly persons who excel in different activities held by DLSA.
DLSA Udhampur organized a medical checkup camp, Picnic, Painting and Slogan Writing Competition, walkthrough and light games, Sensitization Programme on Fostering Intergenerational Bonding and cultural and light music programme throughout the week.
In today’s culmination programme a senior citizen mela was held at Town Hall Udhampur in which Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ashok Kumar, CEO Municipality Santosh Kotwal, Professor Vishwa Raksha, Rekha Thakur Resource Persons, Deputy Chief Warden Swatenter Dev Kotwal, Retainer Lawyer Sanjit Kumar, Sanjay Kumar incharge District Sports Officer, Tilak Raj Sharma Social welfare officer were present on the occasion .
A scintillating colourful cultural performance was presented by renowned local folk artists Romalo Ram and party depicting rich folk lore, besides on theme Ageing with Dignity which was appreciated by the audiences.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLSA, M.L Manhas said that elderly people are our roots that support us at the base ground and our existence is impossible without them. “We must learn the importance of respecting our elders and make time to listen them and spend quality time with them”, he added.
Secretary DLSA Sandeep Kour advised the students and youngsters to take care of their parents and elderly people rendering them all help and support so that they may live with dignity and honour. They also highlighted the legal provisions regarding maintenance of neglected parents. He lays stress upon the programmes for strengthening inter- generational bonds so that elderly people could live with dignity. Secretary DLSA also thanked district administration, senior citizens and all those who rendered their support in successful culmination of week long campaign Ageing with Dignity.

DDC holds VMC meeting to inspects developmental works at Chenani

UDHAMPUR, JUNE-15:- To take review of Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Chenani of district Udhampur, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla chaired Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) meeting at KVS, Chenani, and here today.
During the meeting, DDC who is also the chairman of VMC reviewed the progress and academic achievements made during the last year. He also interacted with the students of the school.
Principal of the school put forth their issues and demands. DDC patiently heared to problems and assured them for their early redressal on priority. DDC released 1.5 lakh out of untied grants for KV Chenani.
Later, DDC also visited Sangote and inspected base site for Gandola project. Executing agency briefed DDC about the ongoing construction work and assured for early completion.
The DDC inspected PMGSY road Kud to Madha, Gujar to Chirdi, T-Morh to Tetha roads. He gave necessary instructions to the engineers of the executing agency that the quality of work should be maintained and asked to speed up construction works so that these could be completed in stipulated time frame.
He emphasized upon the officers and executing agencies to speed up the pace of work of all developmental projects and to ensure their completion within stipulated time frame. DDC also called for the joint inspection of sites by officers of concerned departments to remove the bottlenecks in the progress of sanctioned development works.
Several deputations of locals met with DDC during his visit and put forth various problems and demands for their redressal. He assured the people of all possible help from the district administration in mitigating their grievances.
He also asked the people to cooperate the officers of departments in execution of works smoothly for their socio-economic transformation.DDC also committed to give cell counter machine to CHC Chenani.

ALG ground..Clearly seen that waste including inorganic material such as iron cans, paper, plastic, glass pieces, or leftover food, animal bones, vegetable peels left over open like this as a result it gives rise to pollution and many diseases ..I cant understand what’s the fun of making ward counsellors as they are least bother about this matter of great concern.
Why swach bharat abyan only for publicity?..Being citizen of Rajouri I appeal to district administration Rajouri as well as municipal Committe to take serious concern abt this issue ..

Sikh elders wont let anyone demolish Masjid in Ludhiana Village:

Sikh elders of the Ludhiana Village Hedon Bet refuse to let anyone demolish the Mosque built in 1920 despite zero Muslim population in the village.
The elders stated that the Mosque is the house of god and no one has the right to demolish it.
The residents of the village overwhelmingly support the elders and prevent anyone from occupying the abandoned site.
The elders stated that as long as they live the Mosque will stand and they will stand guard to prevent demolition.
The Muslim population of the village moved to Pakistan in 1947, abandoning their homes and places of worship.
The Sikhs have a long history of protecting other’s places of worship.
The 6th Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji even built a mosque for Muslims.

Intergenerational walkathon organised as part of ‘Ageing with Dignity’ campaign
Rajouri, June,15:The Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Rajouri Mr. Shahzad Azeem in compliance to the directions of the Hon’ble The Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Justice Gita Mittal, ‘Patron-in-Chief’ and Worthy Executive Chairman Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal, J&K State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), and in furtherance to the campaign “Ageing with Dignity” on 15th June 2019 organized an “Intergenerational Walkathon” for Senior Citizens & Youth to facilitate ‘Healthy & Active Ageing’ & to promote Intergenerational bonding from New Bus Stand to Dak Bunglow, Rajouri by joint participation of Local Residents, students from DPS Rajouri, Ex-Service men, Local Army Regiments including 48 RR & Romeo Force. The Walkathon was flagged off by the Chairman DLSA, Rajouri along with Sh. Kuldeep Raj Gupta Ex-Vice Chairman, Pahari Advisory Board, J&K who is 81 years old in presence of Secretary DLSA, Rajouri Sh. Meyank Gupta, ADC Rajouri Sh Sher Singh, SSP Yougal Manhas & Add. SP Rajouri, District Youth & Sports officer. The other officers of Civil Adminstration were also present along with DLSA Staff, Retainer Lawyers & PLV’s. On this occasion, ADC Rajouri was Chief Guest and SSP Rajouri was Guest of Honour.
During the course of proceeding, the Chairman DLSA, Rajouri addressed the august gathering and apprised them about the importance of this Campaign. At the culmination of Walkathon, all the participants were given certificates and Senior Citizens who were more than 80 years of age were facilitated & honoured by giving trophy & certificates.
It was followed by another programme at Dak Bunglow, Rajouri to celebrate “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day” in which various camps were organized including legal awareness camp for Senior Citizens, Aadhar Camp, Pension Scheme and other beneficial schemes with the active participation of DSWO, Rajouri Mohd Naseeb, Health Check up camp comprising ENT, Eye and general physician. On this occasion nutritious food stalls were also kept. It was followed by a yoga camp by Dr. Satish yoga expert who acquainted the august gathering regarding benefits of yoga including laughter yoga.
Further on this occasion DLSA Rajouri, Heath Dept and Social Welfare Dept. Rajouri distributed walking sticks, hearing aids and Spectacles amongst the Senior Citizens. Even a cultural programme was also organized with the active participation of Arts, Cultural & Language Dept. who played a skit on Senior Citizens abuse & neglect followed by Folk themes of Rajouri.

DDC Rajouri finalises modalities for Back to Village programme Sarpanch conclave to be held on 19th of June
Rajouri 15 June: In order to ensure the successful implementation of Back to Village programme in the district, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened the meeting of district and sectoral officers here in the Conference Hall of PWD Dak Bunglow to finalize the modalities.
The meeting discussed several measures to be taken for the implementation of the programme in all Panchayats of the district. Under the programme, Panchayats shall be accessed by the Gazetted Officers of the State and each officer shall spend a minimum of 2 days, which includes one night, in the allocated Panchayat.
During the meeting it was informed that there are 312 panchayats in the district and about 90% of the population of the district resides in villages.It was decided that District level committee and block level committees have be constituted to create awareness among the public regarding various aspects of the programme.
It was also decided that the different departments shall organize Melas to aware the public about the schemes which are meant for their welfare.
A separate sarpanch conclave to sensitise all the Sarpanches and officers across the district has been planned on June 19 under which the participants will be informed about the importance of the initiative to make the programme most successful in each of the Panchayat. The participants will also be provided the account of activities that shall be undertaken during implementation of the programme at Panchayat level.
The DDC directed the officers to interact with the people at Panchayat level and take a first- hand account of the issues and problems of the people and give a report to the administration for the redressal of grievances.
He said a template/blueprint has been designed for the convenience of the officers who shall visit the Panchayats and asked the officers to come up with a comprehensive plan so that all the 312 Panchayats of the district are covered.In this connection, liaison official shall also be nominated who will assist the officer during his stay in the Panchayat.
All the District/Sectoral officers have asked to submit activity list by or before 11am on 19.06.19. The Block development officers have been tasked to provide a list of activities to be taken up at Panchayat level within two days.Regarding security arrangements the SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas assured that security will be ensured in the district through area domination and other security drills.
Towards the end of the meeting, District Development Commissioner made all the instructions amply manifest to make Back to Village Programme a grand success. -
School student feared drowned in river in Doda
The boys immediately raised an alarm and informed the locals who reached the spot and also informed the police.
A class 12th student was feared drowned while taking bath in the Neeru river on Friday near Nai-Dhangri village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Shoib Malik (17), son of Farooq Ahmed Malik, a plus two science student of of Govt Higher Secondary school Ghat, went missing while two other students who were also bathing in the river, were rescued by local people.
According to reports, teenage student Shoib, a resident of Haanch Ghat along with two other boys was taking bath in Neeru river near Doda – Bhadarwah highway, 9 km from Doda town, when suddenly Shoib slipped into the fast flowing stream of the river and disappeared.
The boys immediately raised an alarm and informed the locals who reached the spot and also informed the police.
“As soon as we came to know about the incident, a police team along with locals, volunteers of an NGO and seluthes of SDRF started the search and rescue, but due to darkness the operation was suspended late in the evening,” said Raj Singh Gouria, SP Bhadarwah. “The search for the missing boy was resumed along Neeru River early in the morning. Police and SDRF along with experts are on the job and have extended the search upto 4km towards Pul Doda,” he added.

Rajouri June 15:-The failure of Municipal Committee Rajouri administration to arrange a garbage dumping facility here has evoked widespread resentment among the locals as heaps of domestic and market waste are lying scattered across the town.The failure of said administration to arrange a garbage dumping facility here has evoked widespread resentment among the locals as heaps of domestic and market waste are lying scattered across the town. Locals said that this Rajouri town has been turned into a garbage dump with heaps of garbage present on the roadside in many areas including the main market due to the non-availability of any proper garbage dumping site.
According to locals, the garbage being collected by municipal committee Rajouri (MCR) from various areas is being dumped along the main Rajouri Thanna Mandi Road near Diet Rajouri here that emanates foul smell making the pedestrian movement difficult.
“Dogs are always seen in many areas as they keep searching for food in these dumps, posing a threat to locals particularly students,” said a local resident, adding that the garbage heaps have also become breeding grounds for insects.
“The Concerned authorities have turned a blind eye toward this issue. Many a time authorities do not lift garbage from the place even in the evenings,” they said. “The garbage emanates foul smell and has become a health hazard for the people. It also attracts dogs, cattle and insects,” a commuter said.

The students promised that we will function as ambassadors on anti drug mission and requested that apart from such programs Poonch Police must organise some extra curricular activities this area.Students were assured that the request will be taken on appropriate fourm.
