    District Magistrate Rajouri convenes meeting of Standing Committee on Border Management* 

    Rajouri, May,06: To review the issues for effective border surveillance and Border management, District Magistrate Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting of the district level standing committee in his office chamber.

    The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Yougal Manhas, Deputy superintendent of police, CID SB and other representative members of committee.
    The meeting started with a brief of the issues by SSP Rajouri for the management of border,inter-district territorial posts issues, lack of coordination between the agencies, reporting the suspicious movement along the border, movement of Pok Visitors on visa permit, etc.
    Commandant BSF also flagged off the issues and sought intervention of District Administration in resolving them by taking civilian population on board.

    DDC asked the representatives of the committee to establish an effective reporting process to deal with the surveillance of the border and sharing of information with no lapse. About the delimitation of inter-district territorial conflicts, DDC asked the officers to submit a report in this matter where there are disputes, he will request for joint demarcation teams through the office of Divisional commissioner to resolve the inter-district territorial issues.
    DDC advised all the representatives who were present in the meeting to work in tandem and ensure there is no communication gap.

    So far infrastructural improvement of the border is concerned DDC apprised them that various projects are afoot in the border region like road connectivity, construction of Border bunkers, etc.

    ThannaMandi May 06:–The Checking of Vehicles at Poshana Top on Mughal Road is not checking but a great public harassment said Shakeel Mir President MC ThannaMandi in press statement issued here today .

    Mr said that we are not against the checking by the police and other security forces but the location of checking point is not suitable as the place lack water supply, cafeteria which is a great headache for comman passengers and patients in Particular which travel towards SKIMS, SMH and Other Hospitals of Kashmir .Thousands of Vehicles remain stranded at Poshana top which is extremely sloppy and tough terrain and the checking spot should be shifted either to Chandimarh or Peer Ki Gali demanded.

    Mr Mir added that  Checking also takes place at DKG but not a single passenger has suffered till date and the Police deployed at Poshana is only concerned with Tata Mobiles and Trucks and not with the suffering of commuters majority of which are patients, students etc thus causing great inconvenience to travellers.

    Mr Mir appeal to Hon’ble Governor of the state Jammu and Kashmir ,DIG Rajouri Poonch Range and SSP Poonch to Please take necessary steps in the interest of comman people so that the harassment and public suffering stops at the earliest.

    Rajouri,May 06:In order to take first hand appraisal of problems being faced by the people in LoC villages of Keri Sector amidst shelling Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Monday paid visit to these villages along LoC.

    He was accompanied by other senior officers of civil administration and police.

    During visit, DDC Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad met with people in LoC villages including Ratal Basali which remained worst affected with shelling on Sunday and also met with locals and assured them of every possible support from district administration in view of shelling.

    DDC Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad also met with the family members of a local resident Mohd Maroof S/o Makhan Din who sustained injuries in firing on Sunday and handed over an initial assistance of rupees fifteen thousands to the mother of the injured.

    During the assessment of losses suffered by people in terms of deaths of animals and damage to houses and cattle sheds, DDC Rajouri asked field officials to immediately conduct survey and to furnish loss report at the earliest and assured them of providing compensation under norms.

    A number of delegation also met DDC Rajouri and demanded for the construction of bunkers which are already sanctioned and provision of extra community and individual bunkers for the area.
    They also demanded the provision of bullet proof ambulance,to carry the injured during the the time of border skirmishes ,as all the area falls on the zero line,the other demands projected includes the construction of sub centre at Bassali, construction of alternate road high school chalas to bassali. The construction of this road will facilitate the hassle free movement of public during border tensions.The delegation was led by sarpanch chalas Liaquat Choudhary and social activist Anees Kasana.

    DDC assured them early redressal of their genuine demands and said district administration will extend all possible help to the Border residents.

    Kalakote, May 06 : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh  Youth Congress, State Secretary, Nakul Sharma deplored the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against late Rajiv Gandhi, saying the country will not forgive him for the remarks.

    During an election rally, Modi said Rajiv Gandhi was termed as “Mr. Clean by his courtiers, but died as corrupt no.1.

    Mr. Sharma said that due to failing in completing the promises given by the Prime Minister in the year 2014, Mr. Modi is left with no other option other than making false propaganda to influence the people by hate policy to the Gandhi family in his speeches.

    Mr. Sharma further said that Hatred, endless lying and absolutely no qualms in transgressing the decorum of public life are the three characteristics that mark the term of Narendra Modi and this stands intensified with his latest statements against the late Rajiv Gandhi and the nation will definitely not deplore it.

    Mr. Sharma lambasted Mr. Modi Amit Shah and said that country will give reply to both of them on 23 of May.
