Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday said that the next government in Jammu and Kashmir will not be formed without Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Addressing party workers convention at Circuit House in Shopian, Mehbooba claimed that PDP took a lead against their opponents in the first phase of polling for Anantnag parliamentary constituency.
The first part of three-phased Lok Sabha election in Anantnag was held on Tuesday with the district recording 13.63 per cent voter turnout.
The PDP chief said she desired to visit Shopian in past but was advised by party workers to delay the visit.
In her address, Mehbooba said PDP was fighting the elections for protection of article 35-A in the Indian Constirution.
She castigated state Congress, saying they were talking about safeguarding of Article 370 but it was Ghulam Nabi Azad as chief Minister of the State, who transferred thousands of Kannals of land to Amarnath Shrine board.

Election duty staff asked to report back at original place of posting with immediate effect* Chief Education Officer Rajouri directed to submit compliance_
Rajouri,April 24:Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also District Election Officer Rajouri, has ordered immediate detachment of all the officials who were attached in district election cell/ARO offices for conduct of parliamentary election process in the district.
Taking note, DEO has ordered detachment of all the officials whereas Chief Education Officer Rajouri has been directed to submit compliance in this regard, whether the de attached employees have joined their original place of posting by tomorrow 10 am sharp. An order in this regard has been issued from the office of district election officer Rajouri. The staff was told few days back to resume duties at original place of postings. However, it has been learnt that directions have not been complied.
It was brought to the notice of district administration by some prominent media persons and parents of students that many officials deployed on election duty continued to remain absent from regular duties in the garb of conduct of parliamentary elections and supplementary assignments thereafter.
“During examination of election attachments, it came to fore that many officials continued to show themselves in election cell/ARO offices without any election process going on thereby leading to hinderance in smooth teaching process in schools.
The DC while appreciating the staff for their commitment in successful conduct of elections said that all the officials engaged in election process have played their vital role in smooth conduct of elections and now time has come for the officials to report back to their original place of postings for normal duties.
Chief Education Officer Rajouri has been directed to submit compliance by 10 am tomorrow on 25.04.19 -

KOTRANKA : Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement JKPM on Wednesday held a meeting of its functionaries from here to discuss the measures needed to be taken for party’s growth in the district.Chaired by JKPM Provincial coordinator Adv Mehmood Khan the meeting deliberated over present political scenario and resolved to further strengthen the party at grassroots level.
While addressing party functionaries Mehmood Khan termed the JKPM as “only political force” in the state that can fulfilled the genuine demands of the people’s of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
He added JKPM shall remain firm in its resolve to get people out of present conditions and accord them permanent prosperity they have been yearning for since decades.
The JKPM leader further asked the party functionaries and workers to step up their activities and hold constant consultations with ground level workers and activists at their respective constituencies. Across District Rajouri various deputations, Sarpanches and panches met with JKPM leaders. JKPM President DR Shah Faesal addressed workers through video conferencing.
In the meeting JKPM leader Farooq Inqlabi , Amjad Khan Shabir Badyal, Shoket Ali, Shafayat Hussain, Rafiq CHOUHAN, Abdul Gafoor, Firdose Lone, SANJAY Kumar, were others who spoke on the occasion.
