    Grant Divisional Status to Pir Panjal and Chenab regions: Guftar Ahmed Chowdhary

    KOTRANKA : Social Activist Guftar Ahmed Chowdhary demanded creation of two more administrative and revenue divisions for Pir Panjal and Chenab regions of Jammu and Kashmir that consists of most remotest and hilly areas of the state. In a press statement issued here, Guftar Ahmed said that both regions of Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley that consist of Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda are distinct from Jammu and are forcibly subjugated under Jammu division that itself consists of three districts. He further added that “whatever is sanctioned for Jammu province is confined to the districts of Jammu or Samba while majority of the region is left ignored”

    All major institutions like AIIMS, IIT, SKAUST, Regional Univeristy, Central University, Railways etc are located in Jammu proper while majority population of Pir Panjal and Chenab is deprived of all facilities.

    Guftar further added that “Central Governments have earned billions by using water from Chenab and people of Pir Panjal dwelling along LOC are left on the mercy of God, and despite of it government is not paying any attention towards these regions which is quite unfortunate”.

    Guftar Ahmed appealed all socio-political leaders, students, religious clerics, employees of both the region to launch a movement for creation of two separate administrative divisions for Pir Panjal and Chenab which would result in overall development of the ignored lot of the state.

    Mehndar February 08 :- While congratulating the people of Ladakh region and honourable governor for giving divisional status to Ladakh, Dr. Shazad Malik, the renowned educationist from Poonch today reiterated his earlier demand of special status for Rajouri and Poonch districts. Dr. Shazad said it is a welcome step hat understanding the pain of the people of Ladakh region the governor administration gave the region a divisional status similarly people of Rajouri and Poonch for very long demanding for either divisional status or autonomous Pir Panchal council for equi- distribution of resources. He said it is unfortunate that for over 70 years, the ruling political parties did not pay any heed towards the developmental needs of the people of these two districts and the roads of these districts reveal everything. Dr. Shazad said people of Rajouri and Poonch are peace loving people and don’t want to come on roads for their demands therefore it is requested to the state government and the union government to consider this genuine demand of the people of the Pir panchal area and do the needful.

    Rajouri ,Feb 08 :-District police authorities today held two separate awareness progranmes on road safety in Sunderbani and Kalakote areas.

    A campaign of road safety under 30th road safety week was organized at bus stand Sunderbani by a team headed by SHO Sunderbani Romal Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera Brijesh Sharma and in collaboration with sector officer of traffic police Sukhbir Singh.

    A large number of students and drivers were present in the said programme.

    They made aware about the violations of traffic rules, importance of crash helmet, documents and seat belt.

    Similarly team of Kalakote police station headed by SHO Kalakote Mustaj Ahmed under the supervision of Addl SP Nowshera, GL Sharma organized two program on road safety week with one at government higher secondary school Kalakot and other one at bus stand Kalakot in which students teachers and driver as well as conductor participated.

    in the program different safety measures and methods were discussed to control the accident and prevent the loss of precious lives in the country due to accident.

    The participants were also requested to follow the trafic rules strictly and cooperate in implementation of traffic rules on ground.

    The participants also highlighted the problems of dilapated condition of roads and less no of vehicles plying in the area with the results problem of overloading arises.

    Rajouri Feb.08: With a view to spread electoral literacy among the voters, training cum awareness programme was organized on EVMs with Verifiable paper audit trail at conference Hall of PG college Rajouri for the students and campus ambassador from different schools and colleges.

    The training cum awareness programmes were organized on the directions of ECO under supervision of District Election Officer, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
    The training programme would continue till 9th of Feb. During the day the campus ambassadors were trained for training and disseminating awareness to the last voter of their respective area.

    Master trainers for the operation of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines informed the trainees about its functioning in detail. It was informed that the VVPAT will be used for the first time in the coming elections to the Lok Sabha/state assembly.VVPAT is an independent system attached to the EVM which allows the voters to see on the screen of the machine a printed copy containing the serial number, name, and symbol of the candidate of his choice he cast the vote.

    The trainers explained the functioning of Ballot Unit, Control Unit and other allied functions and operations of the electronic voting machines.

    A large number of students and campus ambessdor participated during training cum awareness programme.

    The training programme was supervised by the officer SVEEP, Abdul Khabir and conducted by District level master trainers and Area level master trainers.

  • DC Rajouri finalises Modalities for implementation of PM-KISAN*

     

    Rajouri,Feb.08:District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today ordered constitution of district level monitoring committee for implementation of recently announced Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi(PM-KISAN).

    A meeting in this regard was held at district headquarter which was chaired by DDC Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Assad and officers from allied departments took part in it.

    In this meeting, sanction was accorded for constitution of a district level monitoring committee with district development commissioner Rajouri as it’s chairman, additional district development commissioner as nodal officer while AC Development Akhtar Hussain Qazi, AC Revenue Mohammad Ashraf, Chief Agriculture Officer Mohammad Younis, Chief Horticulture Officer Mohammad Iqbal, District Informatics Officer Muzaffer Mir and Lead District Manager Sunil Sharma as it’s members.

    Furthermore, field implementation committees for collection of data / undertaking from beneficiaries regarding ‘PM-KISAN’ shall have agriculture extension assistants, patwaris, VLWs, GRS.

    It was also impressed upon all the officers to ensure that PM-Kisan is implemented in letter and spirit so that farmers get the intended benefit out of it.

    Rajouri February 08 :+Worst Condition of Rajouri Thanna Mandi Road. The Road is not suitable for Travelling. GREF Authorities as well as Administration in deep slumber. People of These area being treated like animals. When there are four lane roads and Flyovers for Jammu and Srinagar .. Why not a Proper road for this area. Matter of Shame for GREF authority and Administration that despite repeated assurances nothing happened on ground so far.

    People of the area highly hope-full  on DDC Rajouri to solve the long pending this road issue as soon as possible..
