20 schools will be transformed into ’smart schools’ under TSP in Rajouri

RAJOURI FEBRUARY 04:--Under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) twenty schools have been selectebd in the Rajouri district for transforming these schools into ‘Smart Schools’ for tribal communities.
In the month of November last year, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had launched the Government’s ambitious project of transforming 200 schools into “smart schools” for tribal communities in Jammu and Kashmir at a cost of Rs 40 crore.
It was said that the modernisation of schools has to be executed in two phases. In the first phase, 100 schools will be transformed by March 2022 and the remaining by December 2022.
Smart schools in tribal and remote areas equipped with modern facilities will develop scientific temper in tribal children and will secure their future.
On Friday Vikas Kundal, District development Commissioner (DDC) reviewed the progress made in the construction of E-classrooms in different schools in a meeting attended by CPO, Mohammad Khurshid, and Executive Engineer, PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain.
DDC was informed that out of 20 schools selected under the tribal sub-plan, the administrative approval for thirteen has been received while the civil work has been allotted for six E-class rooms.
The E-classroom technology will enable students to grasp concepts more quickly and fully, to connect theory and applications more easily and to engage in learning more readily.
“E-classrooms will also improve instructional techniques, facilitate the widespread and easier sharing of knowledge, and help in imparting concepts,” said DDC.
He asked the concerned officers to ensure that the work on all the E-classrooms is completed at the earliest to provide the desired benefit to the tribal students.
The DDC directed the concerned officer from the School Education Department to submit the report regarding the enrollment of the tribal students in these schools.
He stressed on judicious use of funds under the tribal plan besides asking for adhering to the guidelines of the Tribal Department while executing the work on the E classrooms.
