=Art Studios will be established in 159 PM SHRI Schools on pilot basis -Alok Kumar
RAJOURI NOVEMBER 30:–Principal Secretary School Education, Alok Kumar on Thursday chaired the concluding function of 2-days UT level Kala Utsav-2023 being organised by Samagra Shiksha J&K at Teacher Bhawan in Jammu.
The function was attended by many students and teachers from different parts of the UT of J&K.
“Efforts are being made to encourage students to participate in different co-curricular activities in addition to their regular education so that they may become beacon of light for others,” said Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj.
“Earlier around 4100 students from 1917 schools of UT participated in Kala-Utsav competitions out of which 40 students were selected at UT Level Kala Utsav-2023. Among 40 students 20 have been selected for National level competition by a team of judges (linked with cultural promotion) from various higher institutions” he added.
Deep Raj further said that access of every student to quality education is our priority and Samagra Shiksha is committed to mobilise all its resources to attain this cherished goal under the dynamic leadership of our Principal Secretary,”.
While addressing in a glittering award ceremony function, Principal Secretary School Education, Alok Kumar stressed for promoting Art in education at all levels.
“There is need to recognise the importance of aesthetics and artistic experiences for our students which play a major role in creating awareness of the rich cultural heritage and the vibrant diversity
of our UT and the country,” said Alok Kumar.
While emphasising the need of organising such programs on a regular basis at school level, Alok Kumar said: “Education is not only to preserve and transmit our diverse cultural integrities to coming generations, but its transformation is far more significant”.
“Under the prestigious scheme PM SHRI Schools, 159 Art Studios shall be established to give a boost to the cultural activities. Such programs provide a platform for our budding youth to judge their aptitude in comparison with the students of other parts of country” he added.
Director School Education (DSE) Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma thanked the teachers, CEOs, cultural wings at district and divisional level for their relentless efforts in making 2-days UT level Kala Utsav-2023 a grand succes.
DSE Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain stressed the need to up-bring the potential of students in the field of art and culture at institutional level.
Twenty students (winners 7 runners up) participated under various categories in the UT level Kala Utsav-2023 were felicitated and awarded for their blistering performances.
The students got Ist positions in 20 categories include Aaradhya Sharma, DPS Udhampur; Sahil Mehra, BHSS Udhampur; Amaan Ullah, G. D.Goenka school; Daneesha Devi, GHSS Basantgarh; Abeer, DPS Athwajan; Rubby, GGHS, Kathua; Ali Shabir, DPS Athwajan; Anshika Sharma, APS Janglot; Pragati Mishra, APS Kathua; Janveer Aryan, HSS Boys Kishtwar; Sohil Javed, GBHS Poonch; Anshika Sardalia, Brahmrishi Bawra Udhampur; Hyya, Mallinson School; Mohd Imran, GBHS Poonch; Simran Verma, GHSS Akhnoor; Nutan Sayal, Himalayan Education Mission HSS Rajouri; Narinder, GHS Khairi; Syed Qabbad, BHSS Zadibal; and Falak Naaz; GHSS Magam.
